Its the D-day of all d-days this summer for D-Hiyyaa...
Window closes today midnight in Spain.

If DDG stays, I expect him to sign a new contract with us.
Strangely i just come here to say that. As much as i was confident that he will stay i am confident that he will sign new contract because:
1. he saw Real don't want him that much as he thought
2. he won't risk being benched for the whole season
3. unitl he sign new contract questions will be asked for every mistake he will do about his comitement
4. Keylor will perform at Real and they will not be interested in De Gea anymore

If he does stay now he will still be going next season. It just gives us a chance to find a suitable replacement.

He wont sign..Madrid will bench Navas no matter what he does this season, they are that sort of club.

And the reason he wants to leave hasnt changed..his gf is still living in Spain, and she wont move to Manchester..

Why would he want to do that?

No offer from RM means they don't value him enough and he is a professional who is expected to do his job. i just don't see him sitting in sitting in the reserves waiting to run down his contract. That is just stupid and neither the player nor manager will do that.

I rate Keylor highly and he will do well. And as we seen Madrid doesn't focus on GK spot as much as on their attack. The GK can never be a marque signing and if Keylor performs they will keep him as their first GK. One more thing, De Gea will not be totally free next season, they are often a signing on fees paid to players with no contract and the players often ask for more money. And in that case Real will rather keep Keylor as they already have a backup sorted with Casilla.

As we all saw De Gea is very introvert person and he will not go for whole season in a bad enviroment because of his situation and run his contract down. He was probably 100% that the move to Real will be sorted this season so he waited with contract extension. But i can't see him waiting for another year to run his contract down. And combine that with the risk being dropped for every mistake because manager will question his motivation, the pressure from the media and others and i think we have many reasons why he will feel that signing a new contract is the right thing to do.

And maybe, just maybe, his girlfriend will find out that she can't sign and that she can't earn a portion of what he would be earning at United with her signing career and she will accept the move to Manchester.

I don't think it's that they don't value his talent, just that they don't need him that much right now. I'm sure they will have conveyed that message to him. "We really want you here, but we won't pay a huge fee when we can get you for free next season. You're still young and will be our keeeper for the next 10 years, just hang in there one more year"

Those aren't comforting words for any player to hear. Especially coming from a club which signs players not always based of the necessity.

If DDG doesn't leave this window, and the rumours of him sacking Mendes if he doesn't get the move are true, that'd make me very happy. Mendes needs to be brought down a peg or two, and a very public and high profile failure such as this will be tough to live down.

Aren't we willing to give him a nice contract? It isn't just about the money. If Madrid don't sign him, it is cue for Woodward to sign him up to a long contract.

What this guy said:

Media reports say he will get a 12m pound signing on fee..Even if he were to stay at United on that new contract for a year he wouldnt get that much..

This idea that he'll sign another contract is wishful thinking of the most fanciful sort.

Best we can hope for is one more good season. I hope he gets his place back once the window closes, will be complete lunacy if he doesn't.

Or if we finally cave and let him go this summer, for that matter.

Yes, he needs to start against Pool if he is still here..hopefully he gets games for Spain in the break.

Well, the Spanish transfer window closes at midnight tonight. RM are doing what I'd be doing - holding off until the last minute, then putting in a "take it or leave it" bid when there's no time for any further negotiations.

For this to work the seller has to be more desperate than the buyer.

More like wishful thinking. He won't sign and move on for free next summer.

I thought keeping him here for another year might mean he'll end up signing a new contract because you never know, but the way things have gone... Doesn't seem to be too amicable, so I've no expectations. Just give us another good year.

If he signs a new contract, the buying out of his contract, increased wages, plus sign on fee will exceed that. I think he will be advised to sign a new contract as you never know what will happen in 12 months.

Talk is that Mendes had a heavy hand in this Martial business with the proviso United then let De Gea go.

It's more likely than not.

He's off.

So, super-agent who we have got no benefit out of in over a decade helps broker an extraordinarily over the top fee for an unproven teenager in order to help convince us to sell our best player? The worrying thing is that it's actually feasible.

haha I'd put my house on that being the truth - we need to cut ALL ties
