Fletcher is impressive.

Something in the comparison in that he's quiet, reliable and consistent, but he's not got Irwin's pace (the younger Irwin) and he's not as good going forward, but if you like your full back to defend then he'll do you a job.

He's got great Vision, he just needs games to stretch him and to learn from.

Blanc with an excellent challenge..
what a shame we didn't get him a few years ago... surely the most classiest CB, i've ever seen...

Bit old and slow now though.![]()

1. I'm glad Big Ron said it cos I cant believe how much Lynch is like a young Irwin. Christ I pray he turns out to be as good.
2. Big whinge about us going forward. There's a real lack of belief. I know the circumstances must make the team think defence first, but come on - every time we go forward we look scared in case we lose the ball. A bit more purpose and we'd get something out of this match.

With Forlan and Giggs up front and 5 at the back I'd say we're not set up for attack. Wonder if Alex will make his subs at half time for a change.

half time now, was watching the match on tv. basically, we have been restricted to long punts, not a single clear cut chances, except a giggs shot in the box which was blocked. quite a few decent crosses put in by fletcher. He's having quite a good game at the moment. best player in our team at the moment.
blanc was left in the wake by luque for the depor goal, who then squared it for victor to tap in.

lynch really resembles irwin, the way he run with/without the ball, the way he kicks and the way he crosses, etc...

Lynch has picked up a lot of MoM awards in the reserves and has become increasingly solid and reliable as the season has gone on, the best of our reserve defenders. I don't think he'll be better than Gary Neville though.
