Effectively Griezmann has said he is staying. What did I miss? Just heard we had cooled our interest.

I feel like that has been completely wasted now...We won't sign Wilshere.
Griezmann apparently decided to stay because of the ban. A bit of a silly boy with what was said and done previously. What did I miss? Just heard we had cooled our interest.
Just try and erase all Griezmann related memories. What did I miss? Just heard we had cooled our interest.

Sorry. We have some odd newbies at times.I feel like that has been completely wasted now...
It could..Could that not be in response to us dropping interest though?

We didn't drop interest, we said we did to save face. We probably knew for a while that getting Greizmann was dependent on Atleti having their transfer ban overturned. Yesterday/early this morning, we found out the CAS were going to reject Atleti's appeal so we briefed the press saying we'd dropped interest in him after Ibra's injury.
€52m for Perisic, someone please take Woodward off transfer duty. He gets rinsed time and time again. We need someone else doing transfer negotiations.
How is that Jose's fault that Ed is clearly overpaying for a player that Jose wants? So would you blame Mourinho too if he wanted Richard Wright as a back up goal keeper and Woodward then went and spent £70m on him?Blame Mourinho if that who he wants

I am sure Ed will try to slip Cavani past Jose somehow. Why anyone thinks this summer will be any different to any of the other ones where Woodward has been in charge is confusing. There has been zero sign of him changing tact or thinking he is going about anything the wrong way.
It will be the same...overpaying for players after spending far too long faffing around trying to sign them. Probably missing out on a couple we could have got as a result.
It's what Woodward does. At least he doesn't seem to have a say in who those players are anymore. The first year under LVG it was like Woodward thought he was playing ultimate team on Fifa.

I still don't understand that negotiations. Why that sometimes lasts for weeks even months.Does anyone know - when United go for player X, is it literally just Woodward by himself negotiating with the club and agent, or do United have professionals to help?
There's so much to these big deals. Generally United are going to be signing one of the best players at a given club and for a big price. There's brinkmanship with both sides trying to get the best deal for themselves and its why you see a lot of conflicting news stories (United might brief the press to say we're interested in x player, or we've moved onto other targets).I still don't understand that negotiations. Why that sometimes lasts for weeks even months.
Example- you go for player ex. If you want player x go to that club, sit with owner and negotiate whole day. You will have a deal or you won't. Give them day or two and go for other targets.
I have a feeling that offers are going with pony express. Ed sends 50 mil. After a week offer is received, than counter offer, then counter offer etc...
There are lots of 3rd parties involved so it's not that simple and we are not talking about £10 or £50, we are talking about millions here. Every decision like that needs to be discussed with shareholders, major sponsors etc and it obviously takes time. Same goes for selling club. There are a lot of people involved (usually) to make a decision.I still don't understand that negotiations. Why that sometimes lasts for weeks even months.

Everybody, look at me, my name is noodle and I'm gonna go on another obnoxious rant (without any evidence) to impress lots of wankers on RedCafe.
You're a halfwit.
Everybody, look at me, my name is Kag...I go onto the internet so I can get pointlessly angry at someone's opinion on football, on a football forum that exists so people can post opinions about football on it.
...Then I accuse other people of being halfwits.

I'm not angry, I'm just calling your bollocks out for what it is. You haven't got a clue what Ed Woodward does, or what he's doing now, yet you're getting jumped up on the internet about it, like a slightly more intelligent breed of imbecile posting throughout the transfer forum.
You're right about one thing, mind, all of this is certainly pointless.
It looks like no one really knows who we are after in the transfer market. Journalists just making up stuff to fill their columns.
Welcome to EVERY transfer window ever!
