Football 'journalism' is absolutely fecked and it's really very annoying.
There used to be a purpose to journos, they gave an insight to things and provided us with information and often interesting opinion. Now it's been reduced to being the fastest to post less than 140 characters on the latest 'breaking news', and any concern for accuracy is completely gone.
I'd go as far as to say that 90% of football journalism is now completely pointless, because anyone with a brain isn't going to believe anything any of these twitter gimps 'report' until it's been confirmed officially by the club in question. The only stuff word reading now is opinion pieces, and to be honest I doubt they even account for 10% of the guff out there, so my '90%' may have been underestimating the problem.

That's probably a fair summary of the state of football journalism today. In years gone by it was quite an honour to be a member of the N.U.J. and real football journalists were amongst the most respected specialists of their profession.
Now, though, it aseems that any wanker who freelances trying to peddle a few lines to some second-rate rag calls him/herself a journalist. And what price accuracy? I doubt that many of these third-rate journos bother to check their stories - In fact most are probably made up from the mish-mash of opinion and fanciful lies that are doing the rounds of the internet.
And Eden Hazard??? - it porbably will be Madrid, Barcelona, City or Chelsea before he would come to OT. There's a story for you.... "Hazard prefers Spain to the UK". How long before we see that in print?
