The Guardian have him linked with Carling Cup Champions Liverpool.

What Carling cup winners Liverpool who can now, thanks to winning the carling cup attract the worlds greatest stars!!! Lets hope they don't win the FA cup as they'll attract players from outer space.

Well if he came to see Hazard he'll be dissappointed at half time. Still, it'd be more like us to be watching one of the less renown young players like the 3 or 4 in the Lyon team or Lille's 18 year old left back.

Not watching but I take it Hazard came off then, not a bad thing, gives him 45 minutes to chat with the lad.

Don't see us going for Hazard to be honest. He's a brilliant little winger and I'd take him in a hearbeat as he would improve our team, but we're already pretty good on the wings anyway, with Nani, Valencia and Young all in our squad.

When you look at how much he would cost -definitely over £30m- I think there are other areas in the pitch that we should look at if Fergie is looking to spend that money: the centre of midfield being the main one.

PSG will definitely be looking to snap up the top talent from Lyon and Lille come the summer. Both Lyon and lille have a good record with producing top young players so maybe Fergie has his eye on someone! Could be the captain of Lille Mavuba as a stop gap DM until Tunnicliffe comes through as we were linked with him in the past!!

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson paid a flying visit to France on Saturday evening to take in Lyon's home game against reigning Ligue 1 champions Lille.

Ferguson's side take on West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, but the Scot squeezed in a trip to Stade Gerland.

French television pictures showed Ferguson taking his seat before the game and then captured him yawning after Lisandro Lopez had scored Lyon's second goal.

Reports suggest that Lille playmaker Eden Hazard was the target of Ferguson's scouting trip as the United chief contemplates summer signings.

Unaware

When asked about Ferguson's presence during a half-time interview, Hazard said: "I didn't know he was here. Maybe he's tired!"

Belgium international Hazard is among the most coveted young players in European football and has previously been linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The 21-year-old is the reigning Ligue 1 Player of the Year and has previously admitted an interest in moving to the Premier League when he quits Lille.

Hazard is expected to change clubs at the end of the season and has in the past suggested he would be willing to play for the likes of Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur.
However, United could provide competition for the schemer's services as Ferguson maintains his recent policy of trying to recruit promising young players.

Lucas Digne?

Left back and left sided midfielder if needs be? Fits our criteria and position needed. Young, talented and of a position we need.

He's a bit too young still, Digne, but he's somewhat of a prospect if FM is to be believed. FM's potential ratio isn't half bad having said that.

United buy Lucas Digne all the time in my FM2010 games.

Clement Grenier was another name I saw mentioned as a possible target.

I think he may have been asked about the yawning part.

We were probably looking for at the next Obertan.

We can dream it was Hazard though. What a player Fergie could make him...

Would love to see a pole about where everyone rates the holy trinity of Thiago, Goetze, and Hazard.

I am a Pole and I can tell you that currently Hazard and Gotze are about equal and better than Thiago but he has the potential to be as good as both of them if not better. He will find it difficult to realize his potential at Barcelona because of strong competition there and if he doesn't pick his next club carefully he might go down the path of Giovani.

Thus says a Pole.

Well Fergie doesn't usually goes himself to scout a player if there isn't a serious interest....

Fergie probably went over there to stock up his wine cellar and took in the game while he was waiting for the wine merchant to load up.

Didnt watch all of the match, but in the 3/4 I did see he did very well overlapping Hazard on the left. He got forward well and put in a couple of great crosses and wasnt found wanting defensively. A very good display for an 18 year old

Well he doesnt usually go scout a player even when there is serious interest, does he? He always says he trusts his scouts to do it. I think he went with them to scout De Gea maybe, but other than that I cant think of when hes scouted someone and we've bought them
