He's confusing total commercial revenue with merchandise. They are miles ahead of us in terms of commercial revenue. Partly to do with their stadium and the depreciation of the pound against the euro.

Yea, that might be it. I got the news and links from a friend and the conversation was all in Icelandic so I'm going by memory. It's about a 2 week old information at least since the latest figures.

I did read an article back in February that Bayern lead the way in comercial revenue so that would be it. Think they have a huge number of corporate sponsors with the likes of Audi providing 10m Euros per year.

However they lag behind on matchday (which is a good thing for their fans) and broadcasting revenue. Only ourselves and Madrid are not dependent (by up to 40%) on one key area as being a source of our total revenue.

Back to Hazard though, he would fit in well at Bayern but hasn't he always wanted to play in England or have I just made that up at some point?

Sounds about right.

I don't think Bayern will go for Hazard. They play with Ribery and Robben, use Muller on the right and center, have already bought Xhaqiri and Alaba is also an option of the left. Doesn't seem like a position they would splurge on. Defense is more likely. They have a 25 man squad as it is, one of them a loanee whom's slot Shaqiri will fill, so they'll pretty much only buy if they sell.

Bayern is the team that sells most merchandise in the world I believe. Have been for few years. We're about 4th after them, Real and Barca.

What's the point of it if we are investing more money in our team?

Point of what? I was only saying that Bayern are the same financial power as us. They don't have the same Glazers debt as us. They can match us in the transfer market and in the wage department.

I know they probably have more financial power "in theory", but the thing is they are not spending that much. We are spending more money than they are, so you can't say that they have more financial power than us, if you understan what I'm tying to say.

Their wage bill and transfer expenditure is very similar to United's.

I know they have similar financial power to United's , but people are saying they have more financial power than us and that we can't compete with them.

Without a doubt Bayern has a much better team than Utd,and sadly they also have more financial power than us..

I'm not sure we are spending more money. Regarding transfers you also have to take in what SAF has sold. What have Bayern sold in recent years? Our wage bill is very similar as well.

That guy also said Bayern has a much better team. That's bullshit.

Well, when you cpunt everything, we are probably similar similar. We are probably spending more than Bayern, but we are also earning more money from selling players too.

I know, I couldn't believe it too.

If I was a player, I would be very happy to go to Bayern. One of the very biggest clubs in the world. Top 5 easy.

Love this cartoon, Fergie and Mancini arn't that great but droopy harry redknapp is brilliant.

Mancini needs to have a team of guys carrying all his suitcases of money, while Fergie has Rooney and Giggs carrying our vaunted warchest!

How's he been playing recently?

The Times say we are seriously interested but face stiff competition from City, Real.

Him and a centre mid would be a dream and help bring us within a million miles of Barca, Madrid

Not sure why City really need him, apart from him being a quality player. They already have players in similar mould of Silva and Nasri.

Considering they'll probaly lose at least 3 of their front line this summer they need everyone they can get. With City being the stepping stone club, where you can go, earn a fortune and then force a move to a club you want and even if you do it correctly have City still pay your extortionate wages for a season, why wouldn't he want to go.

Unless Mancini buys someone like Cavani he'll probably be using these attacking midfielders more than the strikers like he has done this season. Nasri will get more game time with Balotelli gone and it seems Mancini doesn't rate Dzeko anymore so that leaves a spot for Hazard alongside Silva and Nasri behind Aguero.

So how has it gone for Robinho and Tevez with the whole forcing a move thing?

City are probably one of the very worst clubs you could go to if you want to use it as a stepping stone to go to another club. They will keep a player there when he clearly doesnt want to be there and for years. And the only alternative is to sort out a loan move to a team they dont see as competition.

Madrid on the other hand, you can come and then leave within a year or two.

Robinho got a loan move to his brazilian club then a move to AC Milan. Tevez got a paid golfing holiday and will probably be gone this summer, Bellamy got a move to Cardiff with his wages before moving to Liverpool, Adebayor is currently at Tottenham and also got a loan move to Real Madrid with City footing the majorityof the wage bill. So I'd say pretty well so far.

Jesus what an apalling way to conduct business. I know these guys have a bottomless pit of money but none of that makes any sense to me:confused:

So Robinho has "stepped" down to Milan, from the heights of Madrid and a frustrating 2 years or so of being contracted to City where he was considered a failure.

Tevez has "stepped" onto Argentinian soil just to get away from City, but still had to come back and still hasnt managed to leave.

Terrible stepping stone in a career, they are only going backwards and the problems they've faced at City either with form or attitude, means they wont be going to the top few clubs in the future.

City isnt a stepping stone, its a destination and they arent going to let a truly top club get one up on them because they can afford to let a player sulk in another country, or throw him in the reserves, or send him out on loan to a lesser club. They arent worrying about money. So big offers for these players isnt going to push them to sell.

I would never consider signing for either of the Milan clubs as a step down. He just wanted out of Madrid and was willing to go anywhere. Tevez went from United for more money and is trying to leave to join a bigger club than the medium sized one he's at at the moment. Ok city aren't a stepping stone, they are a lay by until a better offer that the player wants comes along.

City want any uber-player they can get their hands on. I'm not sure that need really comes into it.

Its not up too city though, hazard has said already he will only move to a place where he is getting first team football week in week out.

I dont think he will get that at city.

The amount of players they might be about to lose then I reckon it's the one thing he probably could get at City.
