Eden Hazard | "I am signing for Chelsea"

We needed him very much; Robson turned 36 that year and for a big part of the 1992/93 season we kept playing McClair in central midfield. Hardly an ideal solution and Keane was a massively superior player to him.

Yeah fair point, forgot that we were playing choccy in there, was just going off the memories of us using Keane a fair bit at RB when he first came.

I suppose it shows the bookies have no idea. Hopefully City pull out as has been suggested leaving us vs. Chelsea to sign him. Whoever he doesn't sign for can get Lucas. Not a bad second prize

Anyone remembers when they slashed the odds of Ribery joining liverpool?

This thread is like a f**king road accident. You cannot help yourself, you know it is wrong, but you still look anyway as you go past.

We are all in this together...

This is almost like spotting a cloud looking like Hazard and interpreting that as a safe bet for him signing for United... Oh well...

Our wingers are more than capable enough, so I wouldn't shed any tears if we don't get him; however, I would shed a couple (if I wasn't too manly to cry) if he went to City or Chelsea!

We need to stop calling him a winger by the way.

Indeed as I said in the Kagawa thread, I think we will be going with 3 Strikers rather than 4 next season in Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez and replacing Berbatov and Owen with two players that play deeper off the front man but can be utilised elsewhere. Much better for squad balance and fits this team a lot better.

Making a bet with the bookie?

Are there any laws to prevent SAF going down to the bookies and betting he'll sign a player he knows he's going to sign?

Or if you work in the office of an agent and you know player X will sign somewhere, are you allowed to go bet a million dollars on it?

Perhaps getting paid under the table by the bookie is the way around that, if it's not allowed.

If SAF walked into a bookies with a wad of cash to bet on us signing a player, and the bookie was retarded enough to take the bet, they'd deserve to lose their money!

I've no idea what laws govern that sort of gambling, but I doubt the office worker who learns of the deal would be prevented from making a bet.

I agree. I think we could sign both Hazard and Kagawa as Hazard can play from either flank. Think this may be the beginning of the end for Nani sadly. Although, like many others, I think he can be wonderful on his day, I don't think he's provided quite enough going forward to balance his weaknesses when we haven't got the ball. Ronaldo did that and I think Nani has not been able to find that kind of level to provide a consistent danger to the opposition.

----------------Carrick-------Scholes/Cleverly

Valencia--------------Kagawa-----------------Hazard/Young

----------------Rooney/Welbeck/Hernandez

Looks good to me.

You must be fecking joking.

 when I read that post I thought 'Cina will be along shortly'.

Ignoring my bias for Nani, we've offered him a new £130k a week contract, and yet this could be the end of his time here?

Some people have no brains.

I wouldn't want to get Hazard at the expense of Nani. Nani has just had a bit of a slump due to injuries and the form of Valencia and Young.

There is more than enough games in a season for Nani, Hazard, Kagawa, Young, Valencia, Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez. That's 4 positions shared over 60 games between 8 players. That's an average of 30 starts each, add 10 or so sub appearances each and you have a 40 game season which is what any player could hope for, factor in an injury for one or two of them, we are United after all, and there is plenty games for everyone. The depth provided would be so important.

Edit - Tony V was missing!

No I'm not. Nani has some very very average games. He's absolutely class on his day but if we get a player that can play in the same areas but offer more in terms of goals, assists and general threat then he'll struggle. Obviously said player, Hazard would need to be more consistent than him.

So where do you see Nani playing if we sign Hazard, and how often?

Valencia is a certain starter because he is a beast both on and off the ball and Young is a greater goal threat than Nani, his delivery is superior and he's also a more tactically aware.

Nani will be right down the pecking order if we signed Hazard and Kagawa.

P.S I not hate Nani, it's just being logical. He'll suffer the most in terms of appearances IMO

Why all the Nani hate....:(

Apparently because he's not as good as the 2nd best player in the world and one of the best players of the last 20 years, he's not good enough for us and will leave because we could sign 2 youngsters who wouldn't even be used as wingers here because they're not the conventional type of wingers that we use.

Seriously, go away, you're clueless.

You're clearly missing the point. I'm not saying he's crap, or he won't play. He'll just suffer more than Valencia and Young IMO.

No need to act like your mum just stopped breast feeding you.

I'm not missing the point, literally everything you've said about Nani as a player and your comparisons with Young is wrong. If you want to continue this nonsense take it into the Nani thread.

Looks good to me.

This team looks very exciting, although it would quickly need some rebuilding in the Carrick-Scholes area due to obvious reasons.

As for Nani, I can see a place for him in the above setup. If we play it, we will need 4 wingers to cope with all the competitions, so it would be Valencia, Nani, Hazard and Young.

But it looks too good to be true...

If we sign Hazard and Kagawa I'll be proven correct. Nani will suffer.

I won't argue this with you in here, but you're either on a windup or clueless, or maybe both.

The fact that you're calling Kagawa and Hazard wingers proves that. Have you even seen them play?

Brain-dead :wenger:

I'm sure he can get around that little problem, by having someone lay the bet for him or making it online.

The market on a single player moving is pretty small, I doubt a bookie would take a million dollar bet on a player moving teams, and if he did you'd probably kill your own odds to where you'd barely make anything.

Has Solius created a Hazard Cafe yet? That's when I'll know the madness has started.
