Eden Hazard | "I am signing for Chelsea"

I can imagine us playing something like this if we were to get both players:

------------Rooney
Kagawa-----Hazard-----Valencia
------Carrick------Scholes

I very much doubt we'll get both.

I am not sure who I'd actually prefer though, they both look like cracking players who'd improve us and add some much needed flair to the team.

To be honest, we'll not be playing well with any of those formations. People seem to think Kagawa/Hazard will solve our problems from this season. But those two players will only be addressing a position that was never our problem in the first place. If we still play Carrick-Scholes in midfield next season, then we will not have addressed our issues in midfield.

You seem to have ignored that none of those formations have Carrick-Scholes alone together without a 3rd midfielder in there.

But anyway, a formation in a picture is just a base. A lot of people are speculating that we're targeting (or linked with) all these attacking, creative midfielders because we want to go back to a fluid attacking quartet, with the burden of central creation taken off Rooney so he can focus more on scoring goals. It wont just be "Kagawa is central" or "Hazard is on the wing". They'll all move around, rotate, and cause all sorts of trouble for their markers.

I think it's a fair point to spotlight that we'll hopefully have Cleverley, Scholes, Anderson (and MAYBE Fletcher) all in the squad next season. Most of those were either injured or retired for the majority last year.

I'd be gutted if signing Hazard would limit Welbeck's progress. I'd rather have Kagawa and Welbeck playing with Danny cementing his place as a United regular for a decade than having this "Man Utd, Man C or Chelsea" 200k-a-week young boy who could well star in future summers' threads of "is he off to Madrid?".

Bad idea playing Kagawa on the wing, even if he's moving all over the place. If he arrives he must play through the middle IMO.

I doubt we'll sign them both too. Kagawa plays as a number 10, and if reports are to be believed, thats where Hazard wants to play too. We're not going to sign him, if he thinks he'll be playing on the wing. It does seem like a case of Hazards decision is delaying the move for Kagawa, which would be very odd if true.

Not sure why, but if you offered me one of them, I'd probably take Kagawa

Why do we keep assuming that if we're not first choice then he based his decision on money? News flash, we are biased, there are other options than us than doesn't necessarily have to be money motivated.

Hasnt he been off to all of United, City and Chelsea in the last month or so? Why accept defeat just because another rumour?

They came 6th in the PL and have just releasef their best player, they have no manager. According to all reports Chelsea were willing to offer much more than us or City.

You do the math.

I stand corrected, but Chelsea have agreed terms with him and seem the most likely apparently..except we're not completely out of the running..not yet.

Didn't his agent said all 3 clubs had agree terms, and it's down to the player's decision?

They are still a big club, their 6th position is misguiding since they evidently were good enough to win CL. They are located in one of the most attractive cities in Europe with an owner who won't go down easily. He would also be a certain starter which is what he want, their system fits him better than ours. Additionally, the manager issue might work in favour to him, depends on how you look at it. Lastly, I wouldn't believe any stories on this saga one bit, I will believe the fee/wages when they are made public.

So were Liverpool.

What does "good enough" even mean.

Greece were good enough to win the euros too.

Make no mistake, if he moves to Chelsea he's being offered more $$$$.

I agree. Their CL win was hardly Barcelona-esque. It will be the money. Why does no one want to move to a club they love any more? It's not like we will be offering peanuts

I've stopped paying attention to these threads now. All the news sources are more or less saying different things, let's see what happens.

I don't believe a word either, but always believed that if one club offers much higher wages then he'll pick that club, the past few seasons have shown us that money talks.

According to most reports, Chelsea are willing to pay much more than us or City, that has to make them favourites.

Nothing's confirmed yet of course but I have/had a feeling he'll choose Chelsea. You have to remember who he started flirting with back in November-December - Arsenal and Spurs on consecutive days.

That's what I've been saying as well Erica. City & Chelsea may pay him more money, but we'll hardly be offering him pittance.

Out of the 3 clubs, we are the most stable. We have a manager who has been here for years, and yes he may only have a few years left but stability should be the key here. Sir Alex is setting up our team, with young players in preparation for when he finally steps down.

Mancini has done well with City, but will he be there for the long run? How long will the Arabs remain? We don't know. And Chelsea's manager position is like a revolving door these days.

If he chooses City or Chelsea, so be it. We'll move on as always.

give it a couple days and it will be city again.

So it's between Chelsea and us, i still think he favours united.

My only concern is that we are not good at closing deals or i get impression he might be not be our no1 choice...
