Euro 2016 qualifiers

RVP a bit meh in general apart from a nice pass which Narsingh fluffed. Blind getting better as the game progresses esp after their formational shift. Played 2 great crosses, one of them an assist for the equaliser. Defensively he has been quietly excellent.
Cheers! Well good to hear Blind is playing well.

Hooray!
*retrieves passport from bin*

Monkey boy scores a stunning FK. Bale really is the best player hailing from the British Isles at the moment, no question. By quite some distance too.

Blind can cross and Valencia crosses like he's blind.

I'll get my coat.

It'll take time but Bosnia will come good soon, you need to qualify for Consecutive tournaments though
We really should qualify for this no problem, problem is Susic is a bit useless as a manager and just makes baffling selections.

Belgium are arguably the easiest first seed side, they weren't anything special in the World Cup. Bosnia are hardly anything special either, two or three players aside... Wales have a player who would walk into either side. If Ireland were drawn in that group I'd be delighted.
Belgium was second seed, Bosnia was the first seed. Wales have 2 great players who would walk into both but other then that don't have a patch on either really.

Bosnia are a first seed? How the f*ck did we end up with Germany... England always get piss groups too. Ah well...

Iceland 3 - 0 Turkey
Gylfi Sigurðsson been showing Emre and Turan how its done..

We were in the top 8 in Europe or whatever just for that one month that the seedings were picked. Didn't really matter in the end getting the hardest second seed.

These Andorran cnuts. Filthy bastards shouldn't even be allowed in the qualifiers.

Ah right, I was actually impressed with Bosnia in the World Cup, but I'd rather face them over Spain or Germany.

Janmaat. Sums up his performance.

We (Germany) are beatable in qualifiers. We are a tournament team but in the qualifying rounds we are not at our best. Really excited for the game against Ireland as I will be in Dublin on that day. :)

Well yeah obviously, we're decent normally (shite today). Thought we weren't anywhere near our best a the world cup though. Nowhere near any of the top sides like Spain or Germany though.

Probably the reason we might not qualify is the manager to be honest... With players like Begovic, kolasinac, Pjanic, salihovic, besic, Džeko, ibisevic, we should be qualifying no problem.

As much as it'd be good to see the youngsters, Rakitić and Modrić is a pretty good reason not to play them.
I meant niko plays rakitic as a cm rather than am.

Croatia-Malta 2 0.

Poor 1st half, lot better 2nd,lot of chances and too bad we didnt score more. But 3 points in the bag. 26 shots on goal.

Good performance by Halilović and Kramarić who came in as a sub was great. He is a rising star and a really talented player.

We owe you for the hammering we received in Dublin a few years ago.

Did Besic play today ?

Yeah was one of the few good ones and hit the bar at the end. Ever since he got back in the national team right before the world cup he's pretty much one of the first names on the team sheet, after Pjanic, Dzeko and Begovic.

Imo he has been poor this season for arsenal too despite his goals. His all-round game has not been up to par. I was more impressed with him last year and I think cazorla has been better this season so far. But it is still very early days and his form should pick up.
Definitely, he's been disappointing. We desperately need him to continue being the all-round midfielder he was last year, and not turn into another attacking midfielder with a Gerrard-esque hero complex.

I expect a much closer game this time around, many injuries at the moment and after Lahm retired we also need new full backs, Durm is not ready yet. McGeady might put one past Neuer.

Yeah, saw that Reus is out. We need all the help we can get. Glad you bet Scotland anyway, that could have put us in trouble!

Actually very wrong. Germany has by far the highest percentage of wins in qualifying stages, for example, of 74 games in FIFA-WC Qualification games we have only lost: two. Of 88 games in qualification matches for EC, Germany lost 7. In both cases the best record by far.

I'm not denying that we more often then not get the result we need, but especially after the World Cup a drop in performances is to be expected. The game against Scotland was very close and it could've ended either way.

Bosnia loosing to cyprus?

Shocking result.
Yeah it was bad. I mean we did dominate and were unlucky I guess, but this is a game we should comfortably win like 4-0, not try and scrape a result.
No idea why Susic persists with his nephew and Vrsajevic over players like Mujdza, Salihovic and Hajrovic though.

Hopefully that is the last time Janmaat attempts risky 5 yard backpasses to his keeper from incoming crosses. Always the risk of getting one of them wrong in the long run, like today and absolutely not worth the risk at all.

Blind was pretty good. Looks extremely neat and tidy with his short passing. When in tight spaces and under pressure he looks to play the safe economical pass more often than not. Curious to see how he will fare against the intense pressing in the high tempo EPL. Does he have what it takes to up the tempo when needed and play a one-two? When under pressure, can he manouevre the ball and find the optimum angle to release an expansive direct pass ala Scholes?

When given space and time he looks to play the most expansive and direct pass possible though. Just doubt if he will be getting much of either in the EPL. Definitely has the vision to play some stunning cross-field balls and crosses (3 assists at WC and 2 excellent crosses today). Haven't seen enough of him at midfield to ascertain whether he can do it vertically from the middle of the pitch ala Pirlo.

Defensively he looked great in an understated manner. Great at nipping the ball of opposition player's foot and good positioning generally. Really have high hopes for him.

God, Wales are shite.
