Re-taken penalty  this first 5 minutes of the match is more entertaining than our whole season.

GOAL!

Italy almost score before a minute played. De Rossi got away with a two footed lunge. Italy get a penalty, De Rossi scores and they celebrate for a while before they realize they have to re-take it. He scores again. Game over.

If the refs would follow that rule we'd see every penalty re-taken..

I think head to head counts which is in our favor too.
But I think we could end up with a new coach tonight and god knows what will happen. Wouldn't be surprised if we don't beat Bulgaria or Malta. Or both.

Any points dropped would give us the advantage, probably. Can't imagine we'll fail to beat Malta next month, with our current momentum. Exciting stuff, though. I hope you don't begrudge us poor starved Norwegians this :D

That's true, but we're way worse. 1 or 2 nil for Italy is my prediction.
that's strange. I always thought Bulgaria were quite decent with one or two stars playing across top leagues in Europe while having a good defensive style of play.

I see your coach called Norway's style "kick and run" after the game and your humiliated captain spoke of our height before the game. No wonder Croatia lost when they didn't bother to do the homework but was happy to go with some cliches from the 90s instead.

Belgium are such a strong side on paper, yet are currently struggling to string two passes together against Cyprus.

Was the same at the world cup. Wilmots record before being Belgium manager is nothing special either, I don't get why he is in charge of such a talented bunch of players. Wiki says played 30, won 6 during his club management career

We were a decent team in 2004 (qualified for the Euroes and heroically lost all three group stage games) and that's about it. Since then there have been some shocks here and there, but the Berbatov/Martin Petrov/Stilyan Petrov generation flopped, partly because there wasn't much support for them from the other players and partly because our Football federation kept appointing the most cheap options out there, just like our current coach, who last managed some shite team in Cyprus. Funny thing is, before the Cypriot team, he was appointed as a manager of Levski Sofia, but at the official unveiling, some Levski idiot-fans entered the room and made Petev take off his Levski jersey in front of every fecking camera and reporter and made him leave because he was a fan of their bitter rivals - CSKA. It was embarrassing and funny at the same time. Funny because it's full of fanatic morons over here. I guess fanatic support is quite common for the Balkans.

Anyways, we won't have another world-class player for a while, I'm sure of it. There's no one of note coming through really. Berbatov retired from the team a bit too early for everyone's liking, but I can't blame him for his decision given the corrupt federation. Similar thing happened with our best ever volleyball player - Matey Kaziyski.

As for the current players - we have some decent players, but nothing more. Georgi Milanov plays for CSKA Moscow, but is not a current starter there. We also have Ivelin Popov of Spartak Moscow and Ivaylo Chochev, who's a starter for Palermo.

The powerhouse Benteke was hauled off at half time for the destroyer Origi.

Don't understand why Lukaku wasn't brought on myself.

Besic just got a red vs Andorra... Mindless. No idea what he did mind you. Camera didn't show it. Probably lashed out. Out for the game against Wales now though which is the problem here.

Only that he isn't that good, is he? Who will play in his place against Wales?

He's really good defensively actually, and an automatic starter for us next to Pjanic. Medunjanin will replace him most likely, or Hadzic, but both are more playmakers rather then defensive mids.

Turns out that after the Andorra player gave him a studs up tackle, after which the ref called a foul like he should have, Besic picked something up and threw it at the player. Maybe mud/grass or if he saw something. Just stupidity though especially with a key game coming up. They got a red out of the scuffle as well, not sure what their guy did. Might have been for the original tackle.
