Oh I am an ardent follower of your national team since 2002 (I was in love with klose's saults since the SA game :p) and I was surprised to see a CB as left and right backs in the World Cup and the lahm in midfield.

Isn't grosskreutz a full back who can play both sides? I thought he was. Can't be worse than Can though? He was poor as a RB last season for Liverpool.
Dortmund tried Durm, Großkreutz and now Ginter at rightback and all looked quality for a few games but none kept it up. Schmelzer looks great again under Tuchel and I hope Löw gives him another chance at left back, if it continues. But none of them is top quality. We really are a bit fecked in that position :(

Germany really want revenge for that 2-0 defeat in Warsaw.

We play the best football since the WC and özil is completely invisible. Not even a fair weather football player anymore. Still very good ball rotation in the offense.

Faroes equalise. Fecking idiotic defending by Dallas.

Great goal from Poland on the back of a wonderful controlled and penetrative period by Germany. Game comes alive as a contest again.

Lewandowski so close! Should have done better there. We really stepped it up in the last 15 minutes.

First time in ages that I am watching a qualifiers match (and only because I'm in hospital and bored) and it's surprisingly a good one. The German players seem for once not totally uninterested and Poland are looking really good - they have developed quite well since 2012, brilliant counter for their goal

Great goal from Götze but what does everyone see in Bellarabi? He's brainless, a decent technician but shit in his decision making.
And Can at RB, jesus wept, Löw taking lessons from Rodgers? The fullback situation in Germany is really appalling.

We have almost no good fullbacks. So that's where Can will play. Lahm was the only one, he retired.

He is not playing midfield but right fullback. In my eyes the right side is more defensive like this (with Can and Schweinsteiger securing him) - and that makes sense as this leaves Müller more freedom.

Ok ty both for the info

 That was the most Sunday League thing ever when the Gibraltar player couldn't find his feet on the counter

Just tuned into the Germany v Poland game at HT, how has Schweinsteiger been so far?

I'm not so sure about that. We had a defensive approach yesterday playing with hard-working wide players and resting Ødegaard. Think we'll do something similar on Sunday especially with the 5-1 loss in mind. That game ended up being a massacre because of the naivety of the coach, he really thought our rookies could compete with your world class players in the midfield. Sit back, play the long ball and focus on set pieces should be the aim for this game, that's about the only way we can get a result on Sunday.

So Kovac is under the cosh purely because of his decision making? Doesn't make sense to sack him a couple of games before the end, why risk those games with a fresh face and new tactics. I guess people wanted him gone after the disappointment in Brazil?
Well some did, but not the majority. Especially since our good start to this campaign. It's always the same, one bad game and all hell brakes loose. Every national coach makes some decisions which are for some strange. Everything will be forgotten if we win on Sunday. Problem is de facto boss of Croatian football is Zdravko Mamić, if you heard of the guy, he's a boss of Dinamo Zagreb too, he claims Niko isn't his friend anmymore (cause he doesn't call him anymore lol) and word on the street is Norway game is a make or brake for Niko which would be beyond ridiculous.

Lewandowski is such an excellent striker. Reminds me so much of RVN at his best. Great movement, always switched on and lethal.
How is Schweini doing?

He's extremely defensive - often between the 2 CBs when Germany have the ball. Just organising things and walking about. Kind of a boss.

How is Schweini doing?
Gündogan is stealing the show now since he came on.
Nah, Schweinsteiger has been alright, some good defensive tacklings, Kroos with the better passing tho.

Götze is a very good player. We should have been interested in him last Summer.

Edmundsson sent off for the Faroes. Big opportunity for N.Ireland now.

2-1 to N.Ireland. Sky Sports are slowly becoming ITV. Loss their feed just before the NI goal.

Heads up... Martial is coming on for France vs Portugal (friendly)

Lafferty finishes things off. 3-1
NI. Time to switch to France-Portugal!
