Is it the Irish singing the scouse "and now you're gonna believe us", or the Gibs?
I'm starting to believe that Löw is just trolling. It's really fecked up, it makes zero sense. If Lothar wants to keep his cap record, he´ll have to break Poldi´s legs. Otherwise Poldi will break it with four minute subs.![]()

Can and Hector especially were surprisingly good at the FB positions. Great game. Should have ended 10-4.
Agree with you on Can. But surely you want to see Ginter as right back? Not on the left? Can was good? I thought he offered very little going forward, wasted several good opportunities on the break and was not too convincing defensively either.
Hector looks to be a good option at LB, though. I would like to see Ginter next game as LB. Löw used the FB nearly as offensively as Tuchel does (without the covering of the midfielf, though, which cost us a goal today).

Bendtner, fantastic as always.
Yep, although a lot depends in the next three matches. Anyway, it is a stupid rule that the away goal counts in group stages (we have better GD than Denmark but the results were 1-1 in Albania and 0-0 in Denmark).Thank god he's such a useless tosser
Fecking great result for us 0-0 in Denmark. Had a chance to win it as well! We've guaranteed 3rd place in the group and sit pretty on top of the 3rd ranked team standings! 4 points out of 3 matches should guarantee us qualification. Very doable!!

I actually think that Denmark fully deserved the win today, but in the other hand, we could have won the match in the last minute.
De Biasi is our best ever manager. Haven't ever seen an Albania this organized and strong in all departments. Wouldn't be surprised if we get a result against Portugal, we always manage to completely shut down Ronaldo (still remember the match in Braga a few years ago when we got 0-0 despite that one of our players was sent of in the first half).
I hope we get one of the first two places, but even the third place isn't bet. Only a fully functional Holland is better from teams that are third in their groups. Still, think that we should get the first place, after all it is the year or countries who don't do well with Iceland, Wales, Slovakia etc leading their groups. We're joining them.
How will the best third place be decided with one group having less teams?
I meant more a threat for a potential play off match. Still, there is a high likelihood that we can go either from first/second position or as the best team from third position.Holland are the smallest threat out of all those teams, they've played 6 and have 7 points, they can only get another 6 which means a max of 13 and that won't bother us as we should get the win in Armenia.
Yes that rule is very stupid but I think we will get there on points if we manage 4 more out of the next 3 games. We will grind out a result for sure against Serbia and a win against Armenia, but if we manage to do Portugal as well that will be some magnificent achievement!
How do you mean?Albania are doing pretty well. I thought they were shit like always.
Revan was always present in the Balkan thread, so he never made a great deal out of it that he was Albanian.

If we manage to get 4 points in the next two matces (which are at home), we'll be there, otherwise it will be a bit tricky, but still, third place already guaranteed.
Is this the latest version? So Ireland still have a lot to do..Thank god he's such a useless tosser

Yes it is. They play Germany and Georgia at home and Poland away. Don't see them getting more than 4 points max in that so don't think they'll be competing for 3rd place direct qualification. I'd say play offs are the likelier option for you.
Our group has been pretty weird though. I'd say 0-5pts all possible, very unpredictable.
In my honest opinion you need all three wins to qualify directly, 3rd place direct qualification will require 14-15 points for sure. I'm going to do a spreadsheet later on to see the possibilities!
It will be awesome to see countries like Albania, Wales, Northern Ireland or Iceland at Euros. Hang on!
What's this 3rd place direct qualification? I thought it was just play-offs for the 3rd places bar the worst (9th placed)?
The best 3rd placed team goes straight through. All remaining are in playoff, 9th placed included.
Yeah read the same thing and then presumed it was true as well, only to find out later that it was actually the other way around (i.e. best placed 3rd team going straight through instead of the worst being knocked out). It would have been cruel to do it any other way because these groups are far from even.Ah ok, I was reading something here today and was confused. They've assumed in the Irish press that we won't get the best third placed and have just omitted that from their permutations![]()

They have ommited it because it's very unlikey/impossible considering Albania and Hungary are on 11 and Norway on 10. They all have to lose the rest of their matches, 3 in Albania's case and 2 for both Norway and Hungary while Ireland win 2 of their last 3 which is a very unlikely scenario and even then teams like Ukraine have 4 more games and winning 2 can land them on 12 with the liklier better goal difference.
Have you played both matches with the Denmark? Why are you guys discussing third place? You can surely go for first or second. I sincerily doubt we will win at Albania. I think we may lose. I mean we have no midfield at the moment. Tiago, Moutinho and William Carvalho all out. Combine with the fact that our full backs aren´t in the best form and that our attack hasn´t been that impressive. Only if Ronaldo pulls another special like he did at Armenia away, i see any possibility of pulling a win.
Have you played both matches with the Denmark?
Fantastic. One/both of you will leave points in that match then. If we get a point against you and win against either Serbia or Armenia, I guess that we'll qualify. I am assuming that you'll defeat Denmark in home.No. We just won away.
