Personally I do not think it really matters who has the best league. Plus I do not think you would be able to get a fair idea about which league has more depth maybe if there was the relegation battlers cup it would be easier.

Based on current circumstances, losing the fourth CL spot would make it harder for United to make it to CL consistently. We didn't finish in the top three for the last two seasons. We should in this season and the future, but who knows?
Yes, but why was that squad there in the first place? You only have Norwich next, and four days after being thrashed by United, your manager didn't feel like picking up the momentum with a decent shot at a winnable EL game. Spineless stuff.

Here is the funny thing,if clubs (in this case Liverpool,Tottenham,Southampton etc.) see EL like some joke competition and they rather focus on chasing 4th spot in PL,one day after bad results in EL/CL,when they finally reach 4th spot,by then England might have only 3 spots for CL.
