Everton vs Manchester United

Reckon we'll bring on RVP and Kagawa in the second half.

So is Rio injured?

I think RvP will start, but Kagawa won't.

Fresh predictions
-----------DDG
Rafael-Carrick--Vidic--Evra
------Cleverley--Scholes
Valencia--Rooney----Nani
---------van Persie.

Rio :(

Not sure about Clev and Scholes, no real grit, although Cleverely done well in the holding role at the olympics.

Rio on twitter

@rioferdy5: P***ed off doesn't get close to how I feel at the moment. Sake

Either he's burnt his toast or is out tonight? Hope it's not long term

Our squad is fecking made of bread.

So it's Carrick in defence, and we lose our best midfielder and defender in one move. feck's sake.

Aye, without the insatiable war dog that is Michael Carrick in midfield tonight the other teams might think that we have gone soft!

No, no Welbeck in the starting line up. I am not drunk or forgetful, he just doesn't make the cut. I hope that we don't play a flat 4-4-2 with Hernandez in the starting line up, if we do I can see a frustrating night ahead.

You know we bought Robin Van Persie right?

You're forgetting that with a Centre mid at CB, possibly without a proper RB and having to play without your best CM, means that our defence/midfield has suffered a loss in quality; meaning that 442 is not the best option, let alone having to field RvP, Rooney, Kagawa all central... at Everton away...

We can't possibly go 442, with an attacking mid and 2 strikers. Or even with 2 DLP's and 2 strikers. Not with the injuries.

Unless your forgetting we signed Shinji Kagawa?

I think Kagawa and Rooney will start now; 4231 is a far better option than 442 when we only have 2 recognized defenders in our back 4.

You know that the sick note has played 20mins in pre-seaon right? I can see SAF starting him possibly but I lean to him coming on from the bench.

I totally agree with you but don't underestimate how much SAF loves his 4-4-2.

I don't see any of the new guys starting, we seem to gradually ease them in.

That's the team to beat Everton

RVP from the bench

You could be right Jake, but ***** had a great showing in pre-season so he might just sneak into the starting line up tonight.

Rio is out so I would expect

DDG
Rafael - Carrick - Vidic - Evra
Scholes - Cleverley
Valencia - Kagawa - Nani
Rooney

Talk about an attacking formation

I can't believe people are putting Kagawa on the bench. This is the player can add the class we missed last season. He's an absolutely tremendous player and should be in any starting 11.

couldn't agree more. And he's had some preseason. I think he'll start and make way for RVP at 70 minutes or so.

Evans was in the pics of RVP training last friday so he must have been in full training. Cant imagine he's too far off playing tonight if needed

Yeah can only see RVP coming off the bench. He has only had barely a half of pre season football

Kagawa is ready to go. He will start.

I reckon we will get a surprise of a defender being back ahead of time too

I think both will start.

It doesn't sound reasonable, but SAF is a bit like kid with toys when it comes to certain players. I'm sure he really wants to start RvP and if he's looked good in training, I wouldn't be surprised if SAF hands him a starting place.

I too have strong feeling RvP will be thrown right in, it's not like it is an unfamiliar setting to him. What with him being an intelligent player and reports of his impressing first training session its looking likely he'll start.

I thought that until the news about Rio.

With Carrick going into the back 4 I expect a 3 man midfield. RVP on the bench I reckon.

Was originally meant to be taking the overnight bus to Oslo as of 9 pm (8 pm GMT) today, but have sorted out a 7 am plane ticket tomorrow instead as I got me someone to hitch a ride with... Woop! Was dreading I'd miss this match... can't wait to see how RvP slots in, not to mention Kagawa

I can't decide what we'll do... Might throw Evans in, or just settle for Carrick. Rafael would probably start if so. Valencia probably needs to play, and I want Kagawa, Rooney, and Nani to start.

Maybe we'll just go balls out attack in stead of worrying about our defensive injuries..

So no Evans? Isn't Jones available or I missed something these last weeks of no football.

Jones is out for a month.

Fergie said on Friday (i think) that Evans was training but not ready.

Both Gibson and Fellani should be available.

Rio out could be a huge blow.. especially with this being away.
At OT, I would expect us to control the game more..
