Evra accuses Suarez of racist remarks | Suarez guilty of racial abuse

480x.jpg

How stupid can you get? He's not accused of being a racist, but of makin racist insults! Their defense is akin to if Giggs elbowed someone on the pitch, and we protest the punishment by arguing that he's not a violent person, and showing his yoga DVD as evidence that he's actually a soft pussycat.

Please tell it's not a real picture.I mean seriously :lol::lol:
Wtf is wrong with these people ? They have completely (purposely) lost it.Bunch of drama queen cnuts

Someone just posted a video of Suarez doing some charity stuff in Africa during the World Cup on Facebook.

They seem to think that this ban means that he's been added to some government list labelled "racists".

He called a guy something in the heat of the moment, it had racial connotations that Evra took particular offence to. That is it, he's not a klan member and he's not got a deep hatred for every single black person on earth.

Christ on a bike it seems like this just won't get through to them.

The irony being that many other people associated with the club are now sailing dangerously close to the wind with regard to making themselves look like they genuinely have worrying views on race relations...

feck off Hansen.Retarded idiot, colored people ... :wenger:
At least he had the brains to quickly apologize unlike Suarez and his Liverpool gang

Errr..

You've accused Hansen of stupidity for ignorantly using an offensive and outdated word, yet you've done it yourself with the word 'retarded', a word that is now easily more offensive than the word 'coloured'.

Spastic.

loving one of the points being made on that dagbladet.no article. That the things Liverpool have been up to in this gives you the impression that Suarez wouldn't be able to cope with it on his own

Yet again, context is ignored. If he said this on TV you'd have a point.

Whether it's more offensive or not doesn't matter. As a matter of fact the terms cannot be compared.
Hansen is speaking on TV and is paid to do so.You're an idiot, oops am I being offensive ?

The more times I look at the photo of his lawyer, the more mental it seems.

We've already been told (several times) how much work goofy does for charidee with black kids. So presumably the lawyer was under the impression that the fact the charges hadn't been dropped must be down to peopl not believing this to be true. Hence the photo - case proved, charges to be dropped shortly.

Did this make anybody else think of Smashy and Nicey or just me?

It's such a fecking bizarre idea.

"Look, here's a photo of him with a black child. Look at the child. Look closer! See how he smiles! Would he smile like that if he was being hugged by a racist?"

<embarrassed silence>

Lawyer flicks photo round.

"At least I think he's smiling. That's a smile, right? Could be a grimace, I suppose. Look, we've got more photos like this if you want them. How about one with a couple of black babies?"

I thought it was a joke at first, I still think it might be. Is it definitely not a photoshop?

We were actually joking about them doing that earlier in this thread and there were some hilarious photoshops of him doing just that.

I can only guess that the little boy is his nephew or something.

There's an obvious difference, there's no need to bring up this debate.

Of course there's a difference, who said there wasn't?

Yet again, context is ignored. If he said this on TV you'd have a point.

I think I do have a point. The point is that he expressed anger towards Hansen for being ignorant (I'm sure he doesn't believe Hansen to be racist based on his unfortunate use of an outdated word), yet he seems ignorant himself where the word 'retard' is concerned. Either that or he is being deliberately offensive.

Whether it's more offensive or not doesn't matter. As a matter of fact the terms cannot be compared.

It does matter. You can't criticise somebody for using an offensive word and then go on to use a word that is just as offensive, if not more so, without expecting somebody to question you on it. I think being on TV has little to do with it. Clearly you objected to the word itself, not just the usage of it on TV. There's nothing wrong with you objecting to the word, but at least have some consistency or accept that you too are guilty of what you have accused Hansen of instead of trying to lazily reject my point and throwing insults.

You're just picking a pointless row for the sake of it.

He's posting on the caf. Rightly or wrongly, "retard" is part of the accepted caf lexicon. Describing black people as "coloured" is not part of the accepted lexicon for a television presenter or, indeed, on the caf.

It's really that simple.

But the context of where it was said, which is actually the whole crux of the Suarez thing, is completely different. Nobody is speaking from a moral high ground here, just commenting on what is happening. To expect the same standards from a poster on a football forum to those on a TV station paid for by the taxpayer is nuts. Even if what they say is verbatim, it can't be compared.

It is indeed.

This isn't to say that whether the word should be accepted isn't worthy of debate, but not in this thread.

A word that is used in a friendly manner, not sure if he specified the word.

If that's his claim he must be suffering from an extreme inability to read a social situation, on a par with severe autism.

What on earth made him think he was involved in a friendly, affectionate dialogue with Evra?:wenger:

Ayes, it's been debated elsewhere and the consensus was that people should really try to cut it out but that would be tricky as it's such an entrenched part of caf 'culture'. Spastic being an even more widely used - and equally dubious - word.

Can someone clarify for me what Suarez actually admitted to?

He admitted to calling Evra "Negro".

He is arguing that it's perfectly OK where he comes from and that he did not mean to offend Evra.

He has not apologised for the offence the so called "misunderstanding" has caused Evra and instead his club started a smear campaign calling Evra a drama queen and saying (incorrectly and libellously) that he has used the race card in the past.

A word that is used in a friendly manner, not sure if he specified the word. he omitted that the same word, if it is the word that is bandied about. 'negrito' can be used as an insult too, depending on the context.
Once again, the word seems to have been "negro". Whether Suarez has admitted to saying it I don't know.

My initial impulse was to throw insults but I'll try not to.I am ready to admit to the word I used wasn't the most appropriate but I ain't expected not to do so.I don't claim to be an angel like character but at the same I cannot believe you're making a argument out of this.Hansen is expected (as he's on TV) not to say certain offensive words (he apologized and he did the right thing).
You're arguing for the sake of it, completely pointlessly.

This argument from Liverpool fans is so flawed it's not even funny.

Saying it affectionately ten times in a heated situation? Sure.. He maybe could've got away with it once maybe, but it is clear from the footage of the incident that Evra reacted angrily and Suarez continued doing what he was doing - I don't think he can under any circumstances claim ignorance on this one.

Also worth bearing in mind that the word "negro" when spat at you in Spanish could easily be misheard as an even more unpleasant racist insult. Wouldn't be surprised at all if Evra thought he was being called a different n-word.

I've never thought he was a racist. I think he's willing to use taunts over skin colour as a means to unsettle an opponent. You takes your chances you pays the price, and all that.

I think this is what the majority of people think, he's hardly being painted a racist on here.
