Evra accuses Suarez of racist remarks | Suarez guilty of racial abuse

I'd love to smack that cnut Dalglish. He was asked straight away about the latest Suarez developments. He gave a smart ass comment about how he thought the first question would be about the match.

He said they stand beside Suarez, and that Suarez issued a brilliant statement. He said he didn't want to say anymore in case he'd get into trouble, there was plenty more he wanted to say but he wouldn't.

Saw that, he's a cnut. But you can't expect to ever see a Dalglish interview without thinking "what a cnut".

I Would gladly help but I suspect you mightn't need it :)

Couldn't agree more - absolute arse of a man

Does this now mean that they believe Evra's version of event's and that Suarez is a lier and will they now discipline him accordingly , on top of the 8 match ban.

I doubt it very much.

No, the statement says they don't believe any of that, and they are not appealling for the greater good.

If they win against Oldham he will miss the 5th round of the FA Cup and be back for the Spurs game.

Likely he will miss 2 Carling Cup, 2 FA Cup and 4 League games.

Suarez > Liverpool F.C. Nice one, Kenny. Your P45 really should be in the mail.

I've respect for Liverpool football club but over the past few months they really have been an embarrassment to the Premier League. Their fans have been a disgrace, well some. Their players and manager have acted completely inappropriately. I don't think they can take an once of credibility from this entire saga.

I hope the twats lose tonight, for me there are somethings bigger than football and this is it. Absolutely no class and the cnuts continue to act like victims, not a fecking apology to Evra aswell.

He's always been like that hasn't he?

I wouldn't say so, I suspect the pressure of manager Liverpool has got to him, sure he's always been a bit prickly but this season we're seeing him reach new heights of prickliness. That said, I read on here, that he's involved with unscrupulous people and has an interesting way of negotiating.

If they were that strong in their convictions that he'd done nothing wrong they would have appealed, I get the suspicion that this is the closest we'll ever get to an admission of guilt from them and that is very sad indeed.

I remember him being " prickly " years ago, Spoony

Oliver Holt to Rory Smith: [qoute]RorySmithTimes I enjoyed your attempt to dress it up as an example of English cultural arrogance[/qoute]

I think Evra deserves a lot of credit for the past few months, can't have been easy for him but has got on with it, kept his mouth shut. Top man.

Despite needing City to drop as many points as possible, I hope Liverpool get battered today.

I wonder who is next on Kenny's list.

It would be wonderful if he started coming out with random statements about Roy Keane and other people who have 'crossed him'.

In two years time when Suarez has fecked off abroad (or to Chelsea), Liverpool will deeply regret their actions.

The club's name is in ruins for a single player and Dalglish has tarnished his reputation beyond repair.

Their owners should take brunt of it, to be fair. I can't believe they've not had any say whatsover. Clueless from top to bottom.

Yep, they've made the player bigger than the club.

Exactly. All their fans will turn on Suarez then too when he goes.

Yep, I want an embarrassment for Liverpool. We'll be fine, we don't need any help from that lot to win the league.

Lads, help me give a rebuttal. I'm aware of the basic holes in his opinion. But could do with some help destroying it

I dont buy into the damaged reputation theory simply cos of Piara Powar's opinion, an opinion that everyone seems to have jumped on the bandwagon with. And the FA didn't say there was no doubt he was guilty, they decided his evidence was unreliable and inconsistant and completely rebuked his reasons for calling Evra a negro as they decided they cant be true, not based on anything else or taking into account his own race or culture. As well as that they decided Evra was a credible witness even though he has wrongly accused people of racially abusing him before. They essentially took Evra's word over Suarez's with little or no evidence to back it up, in a court of law any decent lawyer would have the case thrown out completely in an hour but because this is a sport related matter they have to go with the black guy, if a black guy plays the race card then we cant be disagreeing with him now can we?! I dont think the ban would be increased if an appeal failed? I didnt hear that anywhere. Perhaps the most laughable thing about the whole farce is Evra admitting he doesn't think Suarez is a racist and he himself actually racially abused Suarez in Spanish, where's Evra's 8 game ban? Oh cos he's black he cant be a racist eh? There's far more to suggest Suarez isn't racist than to suggest he is, for Christ sake his grandfather's black!

No it's not

How can so many people keep getting this wrong? :wenger:

Because, like me originally, forgot about the potential FA cup. Though wouldn't half surprise me if they went out to go lose knowing how pathetic they are.

Well, for 1, they very thoroughly considered the context of Suarez's language in Uruguay to glean his intent, and they found that in a combative argument his use of 'negro' would be seen as racist, specifically that you wouldn't use it in a friendly way if you were scowling.

Suarez's claim 'negro' is never used in a racist way in Uruguay is wrong as shown in the report, and I have a very hard time believing that he really believes that himself.

Just read the club's statement & Suarez's.

It really is unbelievable that the tone straight off the bat is one of victimisation, rather than contrition.

First of all, Evra didn't 'racially abuse' Suarez. The whole idea that he called him a "south american" was laughed at (as it should be) by Evra everyone who was on the Panel. It didn't make any sense in any context and is part of the reason why the evidence built up to a point where Suarez in no longer credible and the panel accepted Evra's version while rejecting Suarez's. Suarez lied about both the context and the content of the conversation.

What bothers me, is this part of the statement they put out tonight..

This case has also provided a template in which a club's rival can bring about a significant ban for a top player without anything beyond an accusation.

Evra is going to be a marked man at Old Trafford and the next few games between the two teams, however, with the way they've been going on in this case that they aren't plotting to gain some revenge. I for one wouldn't be shocked to see Liverpool players suggesting one of our lot said something, either during the match to the ref, or after the match.
