I feel only pity for how badly he has pissed away his own reputation. His handling of this will forever taint his legacy and with every word coming from his mouth, any respect people have had for him in the past drains away.

Thompson's reaction was due to the first incredibly dafts questions. The interviewer baited Dalglish about two incidents, namely whether that tackle outside the box was a penalty and if King handling the ball was a penalty. Dalglish said the former was outside the box and didn't see the latter. He asked the interviewer what he thought, and he replied that he hadn't even seen them. Dalglish was rightly rather puzzled. It was a terrible and unprofessional interview.
