Evra accuses Suarez of racist remarks | Suarez guilty of racial abuse

It's a shame that he was likely pressured into doing this rather than doing it of his own volition, but at least maybe we can move on a bit now as a result.

If the owners did step in to spark this then good for them. It was in their interests to do so but is probably of benefit to everyone as a result.

Thank feck hes apologised. Making EVERY Liverpool fan look ridiculous
For suggesting it was evras fault. How many more embarrassments before they feck him off though.

A joke of an apology as it didn't address the original issue that started all this off. Until this happens this issue is not going to go away and LFC will keep digging themselves a deep hole that they will struggle to get out of for a long long time.

He should have done it a long time ago - but at least he did it. And I have a feeling that Dalglish gave him a clear warning - either apologize or you are out of this club! He must be furious for the way Suarez stabbed him in the back...

But ok...hopefully we can move on from now on

I've got some stills proving that Frogie forged Suarez's signature on the statement.

"I have spoken with the Manager since the game at Old Trafford and I realise I got things wrong.

"I've not only let him down, but also the Club and what it stands for and I'm sorry. I made a mistake and I regret what happened.

"I should have shaken Patrice Evra's hand before the game and I want to apologise for my actions.

"I would like to put this whole issue behind me and concentrate on playing football."

It's good that he has apologised but he still hasn't actually apologised to Evra yet. It just reads that he is apologising to his club only.

Meh, LFC fans will now spin this into something like 'the owners forced him to do so to protect their own interests, he's still innocent, shame an innocent man has to go through this', blah, blah, typical LFC victims of conspiracy crap really.

Pity he is yet to apologise to Evra for racially abusing him. Still, baby steps and all that.

You really believe that.Or you want to believe it.

They are already on RAWK.

Just heard Ian Ayre's statement on radio. Not seen in it print yet.

Some guy from the Times reckons that's not the last of Liverpool's statements today.

I wonder how that fits with the 'damning' evidence that the Scousers came up with to show Evra had refused to shake Suarez's hand?

I can't believe it.

RAWK and Twitter are now turning this into a "We're bending over, thanks for the owners for caring more about P.R. than our club"

HOW much can be allowed to happen before some fans ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY. This isn't some silly rivalry, this is a matter where you're booing a black player because he's been racially abused after your own player has admitted to it.

An independent tribunal has found him guilty. He's admitted to thinking "things should stay on the pitch". He's now written an apology.

Stop turning it on Evra, Stop making up silly conspiracy theories, and just say "feck we were wrong"

At some point you've got to realise if all the press, all other fans, your own clubs owners and now Suarez himself are admitting some degree of guilt, then perhaps somehow YOU COULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING WRONG. To not even see why you could be perceived as being in the wrong is worrying, it's very cult like.

I posted on RAWK for ages. I don't mind some of the fans, they're passionate and they love their club, but ffs accept responsibility. It's that time now.

Liverpool Managing Director Ian Ayre has today released the following statement.
"We are extremely disappointed Luis Suarez did not shake hands with Patrice Evra before yesterday's game. The player had told us beforehand that he would, but then chose not to do so.

"He was wrong to mislead us and wrong not to offer his hand to Patrice Evra. He has not only let himself down, but also Kenny Dalglish, his teammates and the Club. It has been made absolutely clear to Luis Suarez that his behaviour was not acceptable.

"Luis Suarez has now apologised for his actions which was the right thing to do. However, all of us have a duty to behave in a responsible manner and we hope that he now understands what is expected of anyone representing Liverpool Football Club."

Still awaiting any sort of apology for what he did originally.

The modern method of apologising generally only encompasses using the word without any real context or intent. Apologising without any real remorse; all the cool kids are doing it.

Like

What is expected is an apology for the original racist abuse you Prat! and the lies your club spread about Evra...

...not suddenly wanting to make the club seem better by apologising for a publically visible PR-gaffe.

They'll almost certainly turn on the owners now, the same owners who were the post-Gillette and Hicks messiahs, and who gave Kenny £100m to spunk on players, for the sake of a cheating scumbag.

It's laughable
