Fabinho

Fernandinho is a bit 'old' at 32, I imagine Pep will be looking to rely less and less on him. His role is quite all-action in it's intensity too, so that'll increase the need for more midfield numbers.
And waste gundogan and his career.

Oh he's the best young football blogger 2016, I'm sure he's top notch

Not sure if you are being honest or sarcastic, haha. Whatever the case, it matches with Di Marzio's reports some time ago that Fabinho is near the top of Jose's list. Seems the way we do transfers recently - all quiet before the storm, barring those mega transfers like Pogba or Griezmann (fingers crossed he comes too) where we want to generate as much buzz as possible.

Would be a hell of a signing, but I'm wary.
I can't see a huge exodus leaving Monaco. Silva is gone already, Mendy seems City bound. I can see Mbappe staying for a season but had a feeling Fabinho would be held on too.

Nevertheless, Fabinho in our midfield would be

Pretty sure one of Fabinho/Bakayoko will leave, far too good offers to keep them both, they already purchased Tielemans.

He will go to City unfortunately. Be nice if we got him mind, as i'm going to be gutted if we end up with Eric fecking Dier to be honest.

This guy seems like a must buy to me. Really offers everything we lack in central midfield.

Surely him being a Mendes' player will swing it slightly towards our direction? Really need this signing and Mendy.

I don't think Mendy is on Jose's list as he likes one defensive FB on one side, one offensive one on the other. Fabinho on the other hand, can really see it happening with the Mendes connections.

Not just midfeild, he can play at rb too. Which we also need.
The point is whether he's absolutely top quality. A Matic or potentially one of the best CMs? If he's more the former with versatility I'm sure we can find another player of that quality.

Fabinho is free to go, it was already the case last summer.

That's interesting. He's been pretty much spot on on everything City rumoured thus far.

Can we start panicking yet:nervous:

Edit-Ignore me, I thought it said it was happening for city.

Excellent - didn't know anyone from goal.com were reputable but fair enough!

Fabinho was literally the only concern for me wrt City buying Monaco targets. Really hope we nab him, although I feel if we wanted him it would have been done by now. Seems like a straight forward transfer and Monaco are already doing business with other clubs.

He's been excellent for them. Got it right every single time.

Fabinho ho ho
He’s better then Robinho
Fabinho ho ho
He joined Manchester don’t you know?

To the left to the right
To the samba beat tonight
He’s got class and heart
And he shits on Steve Gerrard

Fabinho
Herrera-Pogba
If true potentially the best midfield in the league.

Edit: Still sceptical though. If Bouhafsi says it's on it's on.

Monaco are allowing their team to be ripped apart it seems.

Not really, they are following the initial plan, 4 or 5 players will leave and most have been replaced a long time ago.

I'm almost certain the foreign journalists are getting city/united confused over many targets. Often we've both been reported as interested in the same players at different times. Silva kept being reported as a united target, but clearly since we had no interest. City wrapped it up pretty early.

Same with Fabinho, they kept saying he was practically done and now they've no interest? very weird.

I thought that too but he literally goes on to say that he didn't think that Ederson would happen and now it looks like it is so looks like he is just guessing.

Dont think so, plenty of journalists and contact people know the difference between United and City, they cant be that daft if they work in and around the football business

@KM That's really good news, I hope we can get this deal done. Levy is gonna rinse us if we go for Eric Dier.

Edit the thread title too?

Hopefully someone takes some good players off Spurs too. We could do with them being less competitive. I feel kind of shit for thinking like that though.
