Mbappe has scored goals all season.... Yeah it may be a one off (though I doubt it) but when did Martial get anywhere near Mbappe numbers?
No , he was bought as a striker itself , but when Memphis struggled we ha to put him there as we also got rid of Nani welbeck and zaha who could play on the wing. Martial can do it all like pogba but he's more deadly in the box and in a Jose Philosophy where wingers must make off the ball attacking runs and attack the space that's where he lacks in this philosophy on the wing. He can really be better in the box than on the wing.

Kante isn't a holding midfielder.
But he wins the ball every effing time and has the energy and workrate to go up and down side by side be positionally perfect. He's a ball hogger.

So basically what Herrera already does for us? Ramshock was saying we need a holding midfielder and suggested Kante, which is simply not his best role.
Herrera ain't as clinical in tackling as him , also kante has better energy and better first and second ball winning capabilities so he is always in control , Herrera ain't a def mid player he presses very effectively and intercepts the play but he'd struggle on a two man midfeild defensivly along someone like pogba kante won't.

For the most part we've been fine defensively with a midfield duo of Pogba and Herrera.

What a terrible comparison - Ronaldo didn't start late/he was very good really early (miles better than Martial), he also played as a true winger at the start (so was never going to get 'mbappae' numbers) and even playing a mix of wide/upfront, he got 40 when he was 23.
The only way I'd use "Martial" and "Ronaldo" in the same sentence would be to say "Martial isn't and never will be anywhere near Ronaldo".

Yeah we have but Pogba's main role is not a DM, he's more of a CM with a more attacking mindset. We would like to unleash Pogba next season if Fabinho can do that, he would be a great addition.

No one compared martial and ronaldo just used a example that stats dont matter as this young age, By the way martial scored 17 goals last season with 11 assists , he was pretty decent, but he can be better used as a striker than a winger in a jose philosophy .
And Herrera was quite good in that defensively.
I agree with that, however Kante, unlike Fabinho, would be limited by making him play the holding midfield role, which was suggested and what I've argued against.
Nither will mbappe
Comparisons with CR7 should just be avoided in general whether it's Martial, Dembele, Memphis and so on. CR7 as we all know has the skills and the physique but what really stands out is his hardworking nature. He's very focused and knows what he wants. He may have tonnes of flings off the field but when it comes to training, the guy is a phenomenon. CR7 transformed himself after the infamous Euros (Rooney got sent off). He focussed on the goal scoring attributes and cut down on his showboating. He also had Scholes, Keane, Ferdinand and so on to guide him along with Carlos Querioz and SAF.
Martial may have the attributes but the dedication to succeed at all cost is something I've yet to witness in any Man Utd player since CR7. So comparing numbers doesn't justify anything in this case.
For instance, Coman has 11 trophies and he's only 20 years of age. That does not make him better than Messi or CR7.
Maybe Griezmann saying he's staying put was genuine and we're moving onto other targets?
