are you calling me a Herrera fan boy because I didn't agree that he'd struggle to get games if we sign another midfielder? Also your perception of Herrera is hilarious because it's so far off. If that's our midfield 3 and we have Rashford as ST with (for example) Perisic on his left and Griezmann on his right....don't we have no number 10? Are you proposing Pogba as a number 10? Also with that midfield 3, and a striker Griezmann would have nowhere to play but on the wing. He's not a number 9 is he? And not the best on he wing. I know we don't have Griezmann yet but with this midfield 3 who plays 10 and around them remains. I can't see it but I'd like someone to post a lineup with that midfield 3 which works because I do like the 3 it's what would be around them I'm not sure of.
Herrera a box to box player? Not for me. What does he contribute in attack (goals) and when do you see him make runs into the box? Vidal is box to box Gerrard was box to box. Herrera you are having a laugh he's not box to box.
I agree with this. Pogba is box to box. Fabinho would be DM. Griezmann or Mkhitaryan or Mata would be number 10. So no place for Herrera? That's OK with me I don't think he's good enough as a starter but does no one else see this?
Herrera is one of our best players. He will be in a midfield 3 with Pogba and the new DM.
A box to box midfielder is a player who is good at both attacking and defending and has enough stamina and work rate to perform in both. Doesn't have to be a goal scorer. I don't think you have an accurate understanding of what a box to box player really is.
I get the feeling they would go into their shell playing against City; I still cant believe we got outplayed by a midfield of Toure and Fernandinho in our recent visit to the Etihad. I just think, even with a midfield this strong, Jose just wouldnt have the stomach to go toe-to-toe with Pep in a midfield battle.
I think he's a very good all-rounder but if it's a choice between playing him or having Griezmann in his best position then it's a no brainer, Griezmann is more important by far.
Hence part of the reason we are not top dogs anymore. Certainly not the first player that needs replacing but not top notch for me.

You don't have to score a lot of goals to be a box-to-box midfielder. Hell, you don't even have to score a lot of goals to be an attacking midfielder.

Is that right? think I know what a box to box player is. Maybe just different definitions but my definition would be a midfielder that contributes in both boxes of which Herrera certainly doesn't.
He's player of the year and being courted by Barca, and more importantly, just the sort of player Mourinho loves. Future captain as well.
So how do you fit Fabinho, Pogba, Herrera and Griezmann (in his best position) in the same team?
Lots of players are linked to every top team so doesn't mean for one second it's true. All I pointed out was Barca could go for better players than Herrera plus they already have atleast 3 better midfielders on their books.
I honestly doubt Barca are courting him plus I doubt he will be future captain (that will be Pogba).
Bit early for putting Fabinho into fantasy lineups - nobody worth listening to has linked us to the player for a month now... But anyway, most likely it'd be a 4-3-3 with Pogba, Herrera and a #6 in midfield and Griezmann in a narrow-right forward role playing off a big #9.
In big games, Jose prefers the 4-3-3 so all of them will play. Griezmann can play as a striker in this setup to utilize his speed and transition, with the other 2 being Mikhi and possibly Preisic ( or Martial ) on both the sides.
In small games, Herrera and Fabinho will get rotated beside Pogba but mostly will be Fabinho, with the front 4 being Mikhi, Preisic or Martial, Griezmann and Rashford/ new striker.
I suppose is Fabinho comes, Herrera won't be a guaranteed starter but will still be used a lot. Very good to have a squad depth.
I'm pretty sure their manager said he was following him, I'd also quite like Pogba to be our next captain.

Not a chance Pogba gets captain before Herrera. Ander is a natural leader.
I would agree with your view on Herrera. He is a very good midfielder but at the same time is getting over rated as he finished the season so well and his character and attitude is superb. Think he has been a bit unfortunate here in not being played as regularly as he should have been. Also for me his is better as a central midfield to break up play (as played the last couple of months) and start things off rather than an attacking midfielder, just like Gerrard was for me. Is he world class though no, is he starting eleven material......possibly

Also, Naby Keita doesn't contribute in his own box at all. He's 172cm tall so he doesn't even fit your customized definition of a box to box player
Why do you insist that Griezmann must be playing with a striker partner?
Edit: Herrera is also better than Fabinho so we wouldn't be buying him if that was the case (unless it's for the right back position). Especially in a midfield two.
