Fantasy Premier League 18/19

Unreal achievement @Sparky Rhiwabon. Watch all those 'Meet the Manager' videos, great to see the thoughts of the elite players. Looks like you're in for another great season with such a high rank and with your WC in hand. I'm 80k, still have my WC and I'm hoping to break the top 10k this season for the first time.

Thanks very much. Good luck with yours, in a decent spot so far.

I've got a mate who's only played four seasons and been in the top 10k every time, so now he's starting to feel a bit beholden to his record and the amount of time required to keep it up. The pressure for you must be immense @Sparky Rhiwabon !

I'm amazed so many people watch Youtube videos about FPL tbf.
Next you'll be telling me @Klopper76 is in the top 10k despite captaining someone on the bench every week.

Yeah, although I did have seven top 10k finishes in a row before last season but last season I had an absolutely terrible start (3m rank at one point) and recovered to finish 11k but my top 10k record was in tatters!

I’m top in one of the leagues I’m in but it’s full of Canadians.

Captain Valencia for the next round of fixtures seems like a good bet...

Do you know what this is? *holds seven fingers up* It means seven top 10k finishes and I won more top 10k finishes alone than the other 672 RedCafe managers together. Seven for me and six for them. So respect man, respect, respect, respect.

Took me a while to get that.

I did a few sums and your total finishes over 9 seasons was just below 45k or inside an average finish of 5k for 9 years, pretty sick.

Assume you sensible lot are waiting on press conferences at the end of the week before pulling the trigger on anything?

Will be interesting to see what people do if Klopp says Salah isn't 100%.

Still pissed about last week getting in Kane for a -4 hit to replace Aubemeyang - captaining the former against Cardiff, while the latter gets two goals.

I need some help. I didn't make a transfer last round, so I have two for this round. I was thinking about changing David Luiz. What do you think? But I'm not sure If I have to change TAA because of Gomez.

My Team:

Ederson - Doherty, Luiz, TAA - Walcott, Bernardo Silva, Lucas, Hazard - Zaha, Aguero, Firminho

Hammer, Wan-Bissaka, Stankovic, Masuaku

Bank: £3.3m

Option A:
Jonny for Luiz
Aubameyang for Zaha

Option B:
Jonny for Luiz
Mane for Walcott

Option C:
Robertson for Luiz
Richarlison for Walcott

Option D:
What you recommend.

Think Salah will go out for me. Done with him.

Salah, Lucas and Ings out
Mane, Fraser and Lacazette in

I took out Aguero for him. I would have had Hazard as captain if I hadn't brought Kane in. Got so pissed off that I immediately took him out for Aguero again.

Yep.its a critical one.
Salah out and wild card to use his value.
Salah in and way too risky to take him out v huddersfield (crap team and managed by klopps mate) followed up by even crapper Cardiff.

He's broken his thumb! A doctor has chirped up on Reddit and is saying it's 4-6 weeks til fully healed looking at the scan. Might just miss one then play through it? Could easily be at least two though.

Yeah that's not good. Can't go without any Liverpool attack for this run. Looks like it might be Mane > Salah after all for me. Hopefully Klopp will shed some light on the injuries on Friday.

What are peoples thoughts on dropping Aguero for Sterling?

I have D.Silva so thinking of getting Sterling in and maybe Firmino or someone for Aguero. Will almost definitely leave it until after this weekend because ...well not having Aguero (c) against Burnley is crazy

I was contemplating Aguero to Lacazette, then Pereyra to Sterling.
That would give me a midfield of Hazard, Mane, Sterling and Richarlison, which is very tempting.

Toying with getting rid of Aguero myself, he keeps getting subbed off early and the rotation at City is limiting his minutes, but then again its Aguero and its a big call!
Sterling in the same boat so not much difference really.

Thoughts are that Sterling is probably their most nailed on player, can play in every position in Peps attacking line and he gets great returns....the only issue is he doesn't do what Aguero does! He is not going to score 4 goals in a game. Also you have to think Aguero seems to get injured around this time of year all the time.

Feel like I got a good squad, but I've subbed waaay to much this year instead of just wildcarding. Hopefully it'll benefit me later:

Thoughts? My plan is probably to get a defender in from Liverpool and maybe hold back on getting Mané until I see if they hit form again. Seems like safe-points with their programme, so might go a bit more block-defence on Liverpool to have a risky edge there. Not having Kane is a bit risky I feel.

Away on army duty from tomorrow morning, meaning I can't wait for press conferences and such. Will probably save my FT and keep Salah for yet another week. 2 FTs next week will give me some flexibility. Kane to Vardy, to potentially upgrade Fraser to KDB?

It doesn't smell an awful lot like big hauls for Aguero no longer I think.. He gets subbed all the time around 60-70 minute - I guess Jesus needs time and development too.

I see no one answered this. But you've got some work cut out for you. Personally, I'd consider using my wildcard. IMHO you should replace Luiz, Walcott, Bilva, Lucas, and probably Zaha and Firmino.

If you don't have your wildcard, start with replacing Walcott and Lucas.

I don't agree with the other poster who said you should look to change basically half your team. Being patient is sometimes one of the best advices, as it might as well just be a question of time before the dry spell is being levelled out. Take Joshua King for example. Had a dry spell, but now he's one of the best attackers in the game point-wise.

Keep:
Zaha has a great matchup against Jonjoe Kenny this weekend. He's been bad at defending sometimes, and he probably has attacking-minded Tom Davies to back him up. Loads of space for Zaha.
Firmino good fixturelist coming up
Aguero: Having him or Sterling is 50/50 to me, so why not just stick with him.

Consider:
Lucas - Can you get something as good in the same pricerange?
Luiz - Personally I'd go for another Liverpool defender as they have a lot of great fixtures for clean sheets. Or Pereira (Leicester) from next game as he plays out of position and has good returns.

I don't see the need to do two swaps this round. It'll be more handy to have two in 1-2 GW's - Bernardo Silva might be in rotation at that point too. (KDB back)
