Yeah, I wouldn't bring Shaw in. You can't benefit from the value as you need money ready to get him out. I expect Young to play against Spurs as I bet Jose wants experienced solidity.

United defenders are always good to have given our defensive record. If Shaw plays, he's a pretty good option. I agree with you, however, in the sense that he may not start every game with our full complement of defenders.

Do people reckon Mahrez is worth a go, or would Bernardo Silva be a better option? Can't see him starting with David Silva/De Bruyne fully fit.

Yes you are correct - so for any major changes to the team, always wait to accumulate the second. Hence wait another gameweek, and if still not happy, you could make say 3 big transfers for cost of only 4 points.
 
65 for me. Just inside the top 1 million.
Not too worried anyone can have a good first game week; its a marathon not a sprint. Least that's what I'm telling myself. :wenger:

Too many. Its the constant changes that cost you points in the end. If you use your wildcard now what happens next week if someone goes on a streak then it costs you points potentially to get them in. You should always try to leave the dust settle (unless you made obvious mistakes). Maybe swap one player at time for now and then see during the international break how the cards lay.
 
95. Good start. Regret going Patricio set and forget in goal, think that will cost me a fair few points as their defence looks shocking. Also want Richarlison but my midfield is Salah-Mane-Pogba-Bernardo so no room for him yet. Saving the transfer probably.
 
75 points. Reasonable start - think most had a good start. 75 points on any other gameweek would feel better :lol:
 
I got 42 (shamefull). Had neves and bissaka on the bench, Cedric subbed at the 57th minute, Degea Conceding in the last minute, Lukaku missing a sitter and ruining an assist for Sanchez. Hopeless gameweek. Not sure what I am going to do for next week, any suggestions? My current team set up for next week with no transfers:

I just realised I had Mendy on the bench (15points) and Cedric got subbed at 55 minutes and missed the clean sheet. That's a bit shite.
 
I have been tempted to play the WC but held off because of the following reasons:

I have DDG, Aguero and Eriksen... they all have easy GW2 fixtures and I'll be kicking myself if they all get good points.
I want to see what strikers perform. Currently, none of the big hitters except Firminho did anything of note!

I did. Had defense + gk with no top 6 players, and that was enough for me to use it. Maybe it was knee-jerk, but i won't sit half the season seeing Mendy and Robertson assisting on a regular basis while raking up clean sheets at the same time.
 
81 points. Not bad, but still not pleased either. Took a punt on Sanchez, because I thought Pogba wouldn't play. Bringing in Pogba would've left enough room for B. Silva. Also, a front trio og Arnautovic, Aguero and Mitrovic left me with a whooping 6 points total. Still saving the free transfer for another week.

Hold your urges, Dirty Schwein! we're only 1 week in!

Using it early is to me a sign of bad planning or being impatient.. Even if someone does it early, they'd just end up with the same team as everyone else as City, Pool and Everton all has easy fixtures a long time ahead
 
Anyone thinking Pep will bench Aguero next week for Jesus? Bet he was fuming he didn't lay it on for KDB.
 
Thoughts on swapping one of Trippier or Davies for Mendy? Worth taking the 4pt hit now and if so, who should I swap out? Both are first choice, Tripper the better player but Poch rotates FBs quite a bit and Aurier is more likely to get games than Rose.
 
Keep hearing that some people say Neves will have his price up, can someone enlighten me why?

I know he had a good game yesterday but isn't 5 million is the normal price for a defensive midfielder like neves? (The same as Kante, Matic, Dier, etc)
 
How could you possible have fecked your team so bad you need to WC after the first weekend? Have some faith.

@Varun If you have both Tripper and Davis then probably not a bad idea to swap one. Mendy might not be 100% starter though, Pep mentioned that he needs to focus more etc. maybe he will bench him to teach him a lesson.

His value will rise because plenty of people will be bringing him in. The more people bring him in, the more expensive he'll be.

Ah, this is the first time I play FPL, and after more reading it seems that price changes could mean only 0,1m difference right?

I guess I rather save my free transfer.

Still undecided if I should give Alexis another week or just switch him to Mane now based on GW 1 performance :lol:

I'm playing with wildcard now so can still mess around with my team for the next week. I had Lukaku and Aubameyang in the attack for a second but I thought Eriksen would get me many more points than Lukaku at a lower price so did the trade, Hoilett and Lukaku for Arnautovic and Eriksen. I have Seri in midfield instead of Sessegnon, he will get many more assists and could be their set piece taker.

I decided I would go with Patricio in goal instead of Kepa, he will get fewer clean sheets but will get 3 saves bonuses much more often and he will probably save 2-3 penalties this season.

I'd rather save it than spend it on Neves, that's for sure. He'll probably rise 0.1 or 0.2, but he only had 1 assist and 4 goals or so last year in the championship. He'll probably not be a steady scorer at all, for that he plays to deep.

He can rise a maximum of 0.3m a week. They lock it at that. But with the pricing structure as it stands, if he was to go up to 5.1m you are going to have to transfer out a 5.5m+ player to get him...unless you have any left in the bank.
 
Guys, from personal experience, try and refrain from subbing players in just over a good week. I do it a lot and end up with a player who's not scoring well which costs me more points getting them out again. Wait a bit and use free transfers rather than taking a points hit. They add up over the season. Oh and don't bother using a WC in week one. It's only been 1 game, not everyone hits the ground running. Take Kane for a perfect example
 
I did horribly but waiting to use my WC. Also, only made the one change. Gotta make sure I see who's performing and then use it just before the price changes going into the international break. Could maybe wait until the gameweek the break ends....

I have already used the wildcard because my teams was useless.

I think the current one is balanced. Eriksen in place of Lukaku was probably a great choice.
 
Not sure why Salah and Mane are classed as midfielders tbh, likewise Sanchez and Martial. I think if they were all classed as forwards it would make this game a lot more interesting

Seems odd that Zaha is down as a striker and some other wingers aren't. I know he's played there by Palace, but the likes of those you mentioned could easily end up playing there too.

That said, Salah's price does somewhat make up for it. Having him in your team will mean having to risk lesser players in other positions.

Salah is easily worth 13.0 though. He will be a points machine from midfield.

Did he play in a similar position against everton? Didn't seem too far back to make a difference with his passing

Disagree, there's plenty of money left to spread the talent around, you don't need two premium forwards this year in my opinion. Salah + a premium forward and someone like Zaha gives you plenty of money to spread around.
