It is an issue, but not because of his age. Giggs is too wasteful in my opinion. Im 100% sure thats why we are seeing Park in there as well. A defensive winger to cover for a CM who will not track much back and who will play high risk - high reward passes that will lead to turnovers. He is able to do the spectacular offensively though, and we need goals tonight.

I prefer Giggs coming on later in the game, and Im sure Fergie does that as well. But with Carrick's suspension we dont have much choice in CM. Hoping and believing that Jones will play a disciplined deep DM-role, allowing Giggs to be offensive without fear of dangerous counter-attacks.

Still expecting us to play the 'usual' 4-2-3-1 system with Giggs and Jones in the middle, with Nani as the advanced striker.
 
More than losing tonight the bigger embarrassment will be playing in the Europa league.

He's not wasteful at all when he's playing as a central midfielder in a 2, it's when he plays on the wing or just behind the striker when he can be accused of it. Thats only because he then has more responsibility to create rather than to boss the midfield.

Giggs is still probably our best midfielder alongside Carrick, I don't get why people are complaining? :confused:

Will be more like 4-1-3-2, or 4-1-4-1 imo, depending on how deep Rooney decides to stay. Just formation nitpicking really. It will be some version of 4-5-1, but Giggs will be too offensive to say its 2 deep lying midfielders

If we do go to the Europa League then won't we be playing early next year anyway? Odds are they won't be here to play there due to being loaned/sold in January :smirk:

I don't care about the result that will do it nor the performance.I just want the team to qualify, if it takes the most boring game ever to achieve that, I'm up for it
