FC Bayern 2015/16

Top players want to play Champions League football, so maybe indeed a few of them might be looking to improve next season

Not sure why Sammer has to react to everything tbh.

Also not sure which of their players might actually be interesting for us. None tbh

Always thought it was bizzare seeing masses of football supporters of teams other than United on a United forum.

How on earth did you guys end up registering and posting regularly on here?

There's a 'football forum' here where people talk football outside of Manchester United.. did you really need that one explained?

@ City.

Txiki Begiristain: I cannot promise that i will not poach Bayern's players.

Sammer: We decide what happens, City shouldn't rule out that we start poaching their players. One or another player might be interesting.

Do you have a link to these comments? Can't find anything (which might be because I'm lazy and incompetent when it comes to google searches).

It was on Bild yesterday. Sammer has made this comment on Sky but now they replaced his comments with Rummenigges comment: We also accomplished with Alaba that we are the ones who decide and not some kind of english club with their fantasy money.

Was more interested in an original quote for Txiki's comment, because it seems rather unusual for him to publicly say something like that. Anyway, I'm sure they wanted to sign Alaba and to be fair to them, they would have been stupid not to try.

It's brilliant that we now have all our important young players on longterm contracts. The core of the team will be here for the next 3-4 years at least. Absolutely love it and I'm really excited to see that generation under a different coach now. It's already clear that we aren't that reliable on the old guard anymore, Ribery and Robben are kinda replaceable even though the replacements haven't reached their peak levels yet. Schweinsteiger is gone and we're still brilliant and I'm optimistic that even Lahm can be replaced now.

Considering how many predicted that we'll struggle to make the transition, the job we've done in the last 3 years is truely impressive. Not that anyone will give Guardiola any credit for overseeing such a huge transition after a treble winning season while keeping us playing on such a high level of course. If he doesn't win the CL this year, his spell at the club will be seen as underwhelming and it'll be really sad.

The internet is a marvel to behold at times. This is a football forum for an English club that's run by an Irishman and the biggest rivalry on here is Bayern Munich vs Barcelona.

The world has gotten a lot smaller since the inception of the internet, agreed. :)

Next season starting to look rosey even after Pep, hey @Balu and co...

Who is he? Is he a centerback who is quality and can stay fit for a full season? That would be awesome, don't care about much else.

/edit: found the other thread. And it doesn't sound believeable if they report in the same article that we let Coman go back to Juve. That's surely never going to happen.

not unless there's some contractual clause that we are all unaware of.

Sure, but to be honest I'm not going to start second-guessing literally every single report and description about the Coman transfer and its terms, only because of one speculative item from BEINsports.

That's indeed the part that makes this sound like complete speculation. Dembélé is awesome though and would be a great long term replacement for Ribery. If Coman is the long term replacement for Robben your future on the wings is definitely secured I would say. Douglas Costa also isn't too old right now which would give you three (future-)world class wingers once Robben and Ribery hang up their boots.

"Abendzeitung" has the Dembele rumour and quotes Stade Rennes Courbis:"i asked our management to inquire about a possible trade Dembele for Lewandowski, also to lend us Coman for a year" :D
They say if the deal goes through, Dembele is to stay in Rennes for another year on loan.

Coman is quoted: "Players ho had successful carrers never swapped clubs very often. I have the good fortune to be at one of europes top 3 clubs, so why not end my career here in munich one day?"

Right now, based on the performances he's bringing these days... I couldn't be happier to hear something like that. Makes me really like the boy. I hope he's not playing with my feelings. :(

A lot of French players really seem to like it at your club and stay for a really long time. Lizarazu, Sagnol and Ribery all seemed to feel quite at home at Bayern Munich. So I guess it's not completely outlandish Coman might find a home at your club for a very long time as well. I just hope he doesn't convince Dembélé how awesome it is at your club.

HURRY UP AGENT MARTIAL!!!

Well, Munich is probably the most "mediterrenean" city in Germany, so hardly surprising. Just that it is clean as well, something you can't say about most French and Italian citys in my experience :D

Schepapappa, our lord and savior!
Forgot about him :D He sored, i believe, a total of 2 or 3 goals for us? One was a beauty though, i seem to remember. Him and Kostadinov, our world class attack from hell :D

I once heard that Bayern were close to signing Marius Tresor once, as Beckenbauer replacement or something. They didn't do it finally because it was thought to be too much of a risk signing a Player from outside the Bundesliga :wenger:

Edit: found the Papin goal, the all-important 2-0 on a rainy tuesday night in Uerdingen.

Yeah, we noticed. I'm just not exactly sure why. The first frenchman I personally experienced at Bayern was JPP, and he failed his stint there (others may disagree, but I thought he was a big disappointment). Lizarazu really seemed to have infected Bayern with the French virus. And so far, it has paid off everytime since then, hasn't it? Am I missing someone? They all did quite well at Bayern.

Pretty sure he was the first one we ever signed? The list isn't that long: Papin, Lizarazu, Sagnol, Ribery and now Coman.

I thought so, too, but I often fail to know the early history of Bayern, so I don't want to make generalised statements like that without being absolutely sure. :D

Totally forgot Valerien Ismael by the way. But that wasn't really a successful spell with us, mostly because of injuries and health issues. And Alou Diarra played in our youth team for a year but I don't think he ever played for the first team.

See, I knew I forgot someone... so what's this about Dembele? Are we happy about the rumours or do we not care?

I know nothing about Dembele, so I don't care. If we sign him and he plays well, I'll get excited just like with Coman.

Marius Tresor was close to joining Munich in 1979, according to french sources.

Excited! Hot prospect, probably our wings sorted for a decade. Yes please!

Pretty much everyone would agree that it didn´t work out with JPP. Lizarazu was a fantastic player. Imo impossible not to love him.

Do you know anything about Sagnol´s time as manager?

Lewandowski, Müller, Boateng, Martinez, Alaba, Costa, Coman, Neuer, Vidal and Thiago are all on long-term contracts. Carlo Ancelotti should be very pleased with the squad he's going to inherit from Pep Guardiola.
Shouldn't we buy him first before we talk about him being on a long-term contract?

players under contract:
until 2021:
Boateng, Martinez, Alaba, Müller and hopefully soon Lewandowski

until 2020:
Costa, Kimmich

until 2019:
Neuer, Bernat, Vidal, Thiago, Lewandowski, Benatia

Still quite a bit of work to do to keep a strong squad. Signing Coman on a longterm contract is a start, but a lot of older players with short contracts play a major role for us. If Benatia leaves, it's just those 11 players + Coman with longterm contracts. Lahm's contract is up in 2018, everyone else (Robben, Ribery, Götze, Alonso, Rafinha, Rode, Badstuber) have only one year left in the summer.

Müller is the only one of the 2010 CL final team left with a long contract by the way. The rebuild in the 3 years under Guardiola has been huge.

Shouldn't we buy him first before we talk about him being on a long-term contract?

That's only a formality the way I see it.

With loans that include a purchase option there's typically already a signed contract in place that becomes valid as soon as we officially purchase Coman from Juventus. Otherwise the entire deal would turn into a joke if the player can just say 'no thanks' after two years. Therefore we can easily plan with Coman until 2020.

This is obviously a late reply but Dembele has said he isn't joining Bayern but he's quite good especially considering his age.

I'm pretty sure Dembele only denied having talked to us or is there already a more recent statement?

Great news by Bild. Lewandowski's extension would be a very good sign for the future.

.

Only just read this thread but Txiki was asked if he could rule out signing any Bayern players. He responded: “I can not promise anything. Our goal is always to put together a strong squad. Bayern Munich are trying to do the same thing. For months we have been working on the new team and who knows what will happen.” Nothing wrong with what he said, it's just the generic response when journalists try and get a professional to commit to something. Totally agree about Alaba by the way, he's in my top three 'fantasy' signings this summer. Fantastic player.
