I like that team, despite the fact the last time Jones and Carrick were the two CHs we lost at home to Blackburn.
Bold prediction: we will suck tonight for at least 60 minutes. People will complain about it and people will complain about people complaining about it. Our 10-30 good minutes will however still be enough to get draw or even a win.
well..people on here have been screaming for that kind of midfield...lets see the wisdom of the caf eh?
If we're playing a diamond formation that is an exciting midfield. Not too enthused about Carrick being CB, I'd rather Wootton got the experience.
Okay. Then that would sum up the current modern day following our club has wouldnt it.
fecking mind boggling.
By the way, don't worry, I'm going to watch this game. Then that would sum up the current modern day following our club has wouldnt it.

What is the point of Carrick at centre-back? How does that help anyone in any way.
Gives us experience at the back whilst allowing to Rio and Smalling to be fresh for the weekend.
Wootton would be out of his depth tonight, no surprise he isn't thrown in next to Jones.
What's the point though?
I mean, I know Fergie is never going to set up a team knowing it's not good enough but tonight's result is more about the performance and individuals than it is the result. If Wootton is going to be out of his depth then so be it, but there's no harm in playing him and hoping he'll surprise us, and if he doesn't then it doesn't matter.
2 loss in a row, wouldn't be good probably? The team today looks good enough to atleast get a draw. The atmosphere there won't be too friendly for so many youngsters. What's the point though?

Except that he had a nightmare against Chelsea in the end that will have really hurt his confidence; he needs a good solid game next time out to help him recover from that. Throwing him into one of the most intimidating stadiums in the world will likely do his development more harm than good.
Probably picked the exact opposite midfield I would've chosen for the last 2 games. Important PL game - Giggs Carrick. Dead rubber CL game, play all the midfielders!
#MUFC XI: Lindegaard, Rafael, Jones, Carrick, Buttner, Fletcher, Cleverley, Anderson, Powell, Welbeck, Hernandez
