Game 15: France vs Albania

was that France or LVG's United in disguise ?
Attitude and tempo of this France team was pretty similar to that of LVG's united. Two midfielders who are not good at passing forward quickly or long incisively. 1 striker upfront who is not involved in the game at all due to zero service and also reluctant to make run behind the opposition defence. Right winger is coming inside desperately to get involved in the game and when given an opportunity does not produce a good cross. Slow build up play by the midfielders and CBs and pass it to the Left Winger in hope that he can produce some magic.

The problem is playing with a 4231 system with 2 CMs who've limited passing ability. The ball is not getting played forward, the play isn't getting switched from one side to other instead it's all very static or sideways movement and then give the ball to Martial (or Coman) to do everything by himself.

Martial Origi Embolo. Three highly rated forwards all started mediocre, not necessarily poor but all have given the impression theyre trying to hard to make an impact.

The fact that Origi is mentioned in the same sentence shows how poorly Embolo and Martial have started here.
 
This idiot just removed the only player creating worth a lick to bring on another midfielder. I hope France lose this one.
 
Martial has been taken off for playing poor but at least trying to get involved while Grioud, Coman, Matiudi etc survive because they've been poor too but went into hiding for 45 minutes.
 
The love for Martial on this forum is mental. Correct decision to take him off.

He's a talent is Divock always been highly rated, extremely raw though would be putting it kindly, still regardless im convinced all three will end up top class, Martial is obviously the safest bet to achieve that status presently.

This is why people need to give Depay one more year. martial, like Depay needs good midfielders to get him the ball in the right spots at the right time.

Midfielder is going to be the most important transfer for the Reds this summer.
 
Matuidi was far worst than Martial, but it seems like Deschamps has a soft spot for him, willing to overlook his 0% contribution to anything. Atleast Tony tried to take on the Albanian defense.

Complete crap. Agree with the sentiment that it's harsh to pick him out when the whole team was poor but he was pretty much the worst.
