Gareth Bale is...The most expensive player ever?!

Its personal taste. I prefer bale as a winger than nani, thats all...

That's not all.

Shits all over?
Far more consistent?

I mean, it's pure nonsense, the stats completely prove otherwise for feck sake.

If the money is there for him then why wouldn't we? He's SAFs type of winger through and through.

It all depends on whether Spurs are in the CL next season or not.

I doubt the money is there. Either way it will cost considerable chunk of our budget. As much as brilliant it sounds, we should look at CM as a priority.

However Bale I will not pass on.

fecking hell mate, you need to chill. We were playing a shit team who never looked like threatening us.

2 of the competitions highest scoring teams were playing each other again after an amazing first game.

Seriously, give over.

Yeah I guess.

Bale v Nani is an interesting one. Both of them have been hit or miss for a couple of seasons and have only really hit consistant form since the turn of the year, during which time they have both been phenomenal, so in the last 3 years they have had similar paths. I cant see how you can argue for either player on which is more consistant.

I think Bale is a left footed version of Valencia, most of his runs i saw (just highlights don't shoot) were the classic knock it past and run with a good cross on the end.

He's a better goalscorer though, can't argue with that.

Funnily enough the last time Nani and Bale were on the same pitch, one of them did nothing and the other scored one, got another assist and hit the crossbar. Hmm.

If it helps you sleep at night, nanis a better winger. Happy?

There's a difference between saying that you prefer Bale's style of wing play, to saying he shits all over Nani and is more consistent.

Admittedly the first part is just hyperbolic exaggeration. But the second is a statistical claim that is wrong.

Bale against us had one decent run, for the rest of the game he was keeping warm in young Rafael's pocket.

City will probably get him. It's going to take astronomical fee to land him. Cracking player. One of the best young players around. Would be brilliant in our team.

Well with nani, i see tricks and flicks that may or may not come off, and every so oftern, he'll have a moment of brilliance that could lead to him scoring or providing an assist. Nani has moments of brilliance, in the middle of a bunch of tricks and flicks that may, or may not come of.

But with bale, its always steam rolling past the defender and either putting the ball into a dangerous area, or shooting and giving the keeper something to think about. He almost ALWAYS does this, hence why i believe hes more consistant. Just my opinion.

Bale did feck all against us, and to say hes superior to Nani is ridiculous and just goes to show how british players get hyped up far easier and quicker than certain imports, Nanis been ripping this league up since January, his stats piss all over Bales but its hardly noticed outside of this club.

Bales a great talent and id love him here but hes not better than Nani.

Spot on.

As good as Bale has been, Nani has in general been better in terms of his output.

He doesn't ALWAYS do this at all. He blazed over and mishit some crosses tonight in fact. You don't watch all of Tottenham's games though do you? But you probably watch all of United's. So all you see is highlights of Bale ALWAYS doing it. Not really a fair comparison.

I see no problem with that opinion. I think most people took offense to the 'shits over' part. You'd have to one of the very best in the world (Messi, Ronaldo) to shit over Nani. Or someone who has extremely strange toilet habits.

Bale is in his first full season as a winger, at 21. It's normal to have poor matches. The potential is there, he could only get better in a bigger team.

Nani on the other hand is established and on form for almost an year now. He currently is the better(and obviously more consistent) winger.

Like he did on Saturday yeah?

Didn't watch the game (obviously) I take it he's finally extricated himself from Rafael's pocket?

I watched it on the laptop along with the Utd match on TV, which some folks seem to think makes me a bad supporter ;)

He bent Maicon, Lucio and Samuel over and bum fecked the lot of them.

Apparently had a stormer. To be fair, Rafaels reserved his best performances for the better players and bigger games usually. Even the game against Bayern where he got sent off he was excellent against Ribery.

Bale fans:

We can sign him for £35 million, but it means Rooney has to go Madrid (£45m)

What do you do?

I remember all of those posts about a game with Liverpool where Rio kept Torres in his pocket. Then he made both Rio and Vidic look like right fecking amateurs on several occasions.

Strawman argument from you as per usual.

Probably not the best time to use Rooney as a bait for a transfer. Replace with Hernandez and that gives people a real dilemma :)

Am just saying Bale is second best in world at this moment. That's all. It keeps changing. Beauty of football.

Barclay not letting up; knee jerk muppet

Ahh, fair enough. I guess most people (myself included) took it to mean consistent over a period of months and matches rather than consistent within a match or a more consistent style of play.

Nani is more skilful, versatile and two-footed than Bale. That said, Bale has the better footballing brain in terms of picking the right pass and better accuracy of cross, but then again Nani's crossing technique is so good that he can match up to Bales crossing and he can do it with either foot.

He can also score from any area on the pitch and is the more elusive player, frustrating yes.. but full of flair and as he approaches his peak, he will be very hard to contain.

Bale on the other hand, still has to add more to his game as once he becomes world-reknowned he'll be easier to read, as he does like to knock it past and run.. utilisng little footwork and always favouring his left. I think Bale does have it in him and age is on his side to become a more well rounded and even more destructive talent.

As it is I think Nani is the slightly better player, but Bale is catching up all the time and with the right coaching he has the physique and the natural talent to be a versatile skilful and slightly more powerful winger.

We need both of them and we'll be sorted for 10 years.

Shit veiled attempt to having a sly dig at those of us quite capabale of watching 2 games at the same time.

Ignore them, I did the same thing. And I'd do it again I tell you...mwa ha ha ha ha!

Still wondering how on earth we missed out on him, should have signed him from Saints for £7, now he'll cost between 40 and £50m ...
