Gareth Bale is...The most expensive player ever?!

he's a horrible cheat. the sooner the media target him the better. oh wait, hes british, so they won't target him.

Fell over his own feet. Wales should have had a penalty earlier in the game though and Scotland had one of the worst disallowed goals I've ever seen so not surprised the referee bought that one. Had a shocker all game.

Gareth Bale is... brilliant. Beauty of a strike for his 2nd goal. Great player.

He might not have the reputation of Suarez [would need a wider range of offences first] but people do freely talk about his diving. Cited on numerous occasions that he got booked twice for diving last season.

Is the supposed bias of the media worse than the protection offered by and hypocrisy of club managers?

If he caught his own leg it's not a dive then is it? Looking at that gif I'd be surprised if that defender hasn't touched him.

Bale is an overrated diving twat but I don't think he's at fault there. If he's fell over his own leg then what can you do?

Be honest with the ref?

Well you can catch your own leg and it be a dive, ask Pires.

Whatever occurred it wasn't a penalty.

The point is, if you're a match official you can't trust what you are seeing when Bale hits the deck. He is through his actions taking away the benefit of the doubt otherwise afforded to attacking players in situations like that. Or should be in hsi case.

Not that I'm defending Suarez, because he's a cheat and deserves the spotlight and treatment. But Bale isn't getting the same because he is the darling of the English league and a sky poster boy.

in a nutshell.

I cant stand him, he thinks hes something special, I just watch him and see someone who already thinks hes on the level of the likes of Ronaldo.

Pin those ears back all you want Gareth. You still look like an extra out of ape escape.

It's not a dive. How can you say that when the gif itself has made it clear? And he's a fantastic footballer, you lot would love him if Fergie buys him next season

 yeah right. That's happened about twice in the last 20 years.

Bale isn't getting the same treatment as Suarez because he doesn't spend every game snarling and throwing his arms around after every decision. It's a shame he's at Liverpool because it appears we're all biased, but he's simply a complete twat.

Yeah agree. Bale dives like even Young, Rooney and Carrick do but he doesn't roll around in agony like Squarez or Drogba and doesn't mouth off to every player and chase the referee around trying to get a free kick. They are both divers but night and day and this is why Bale is not hated like goofy.

Bale annoys me at times but he would walk into our team as I think SAF realy likes players like him yet knows Levy would demand £50m.

It was quite obviously not a dive.

As his right leg comes up it gets caught by Maloney. Bale's right leg then hits his left leg resulting in him going down.

The Bale hate on here is extraordinary.

Absolutely agreed Carl(Hashtag before your name, Seriously?).

He's only 23 and yet has been pretty good for the Spurs over the last two years. Some people have started under-rating him due to him being overrated by the media.

 It's because it'd look too similar to Cal otherwise and I couldn't think of anything else. I'm not the most creative person...

He's clearly a very good player.

I simply can't see him staying at Spurs.

If he does go then it'll be for an absolutely huge fee.

I personally think he'll stay for a few years yet providing Spurs manage to get in the Champions League.

You're fecking blind. Maloney didn't catch him at all. He caught his own heels either deliberately or unintentionally (I have my doubts it was the latter, he could've stayed up)

Maloney:

"I think there might have been a bit of contact, to be fair to Bale. It wasn't a challenge as such, he just ran across me and part of his legs touched mine. I don't think he dived. It was just a coming-together."

Not a penalty so?

Glaston you really are tiresome, you don't need to defend every action of every Spurs player.

Not a penalty so?
...

You claimed Maloney didn't make contact, but the player himself admits that he did ... so you in turn might admit that your claim was wrong.

As for it not being a pen, it happened in the penalty area, when Bale was clear through with a run on goal, moving at pace with the ball under control . Most refs will give that 9 times out of 10.

Maloney thinks he made contact. I think Bale initiated it and then fell over.

Bale wasn't through on goal. The ball was rolling towards the right corner of the penalty area at an angle.

Maloney's knee clips Bale's heel, you can see he holds his hands up as soon as there's contact. Bale went looking for that penalty and engineered the contact though, Maloney didn't make any attempt to get him or the ball.

I can understand you not liking him for diving perhaps, but the highlighted criticism is ridiculous, as it is so not reflective of Gareth Bale. He's anything but a big head. He's one of the few players to actually say he doesn't think he's as good as people say. Also I don't thin he's ever once shown any arrogance, such as the likes of Rooney, Cantona or Ronaldo have in the past.

Pretty impressive continuing to claim a player wasn't touched when even the player that made contact admitted it.

Is football a contact sport or not?

For me it was either Bale trying to gain a penalty when wasn't or something which should be viewed as an innocent occurrence in the game.

The mood these days whether in the stands and on the pitch has caused that grey area where no offence has taken place, to fade away.

He didn't admit it was deliberate so that quote is pointless. I think Bale initiated the minimal contact, and then dived. If you watch it in slow-mo he could've stayed up.

If you don't think there's contact as Bale cuts across Maloney I'd suggest it's you that's "fecking blind".

The fact Maloney has also said he made contact just makes your post look even dafter.
