Gary Neville

I find it hard to take his word on this sort of stuff seriously when he made such a big song and dance about criticizing Ole.

He's always chatted bollox but his hypocrisy was exposed during that period.

For example did he criticize Ole and the Players for taking that holiday after the defeats to Liverpool and City?

For all that "He's a fan and he's angry" talk , do you honestly think that helps your club?

It's like someone on Arsenal Fan TV has a national platform to spread their toxicity and for some reason the vast majority see this as a guy who "Speaks sense".

And finally , If Fergie was still around the first person he would be telling to shut the feck up on social media would be Gary Neville.

On the one hand, players shouldn't apologise to the fans after a bad performance. On the other, they shouldn't get on with their lives.

And what at does he mean by "tone deaf" was there a karaoke night, or something?

And people say he doesn't love the club. He's a diehard fan he's disgusted at how far we've fallen and he let's his emotions get the better of him at times
One could love the club and still have loads of agenda and bias when evaluating things wrong at the club. Not to mention have opinions that doesn't make sense.

This sums it up perfectly. The squad was assembled under a manager he wouldn’t criticise. His rants are highly agenda driven & it just stinks of going for low hanging fruit. He is, as you say becoming a parade of AFTV levels. We get it already.

Linekar puts him firmly in his place as did the response about someone having a bad week at work. He continues to stir up a terrible atmosphere between players & fans.

God No. I couldn't stand it in Arsenal Forum. You can only hear the voice from one side and it is unbearable.

To be fair to Neville he always gave his all and he genuinely cared about the club and how his performances affected the success of the club.
A bad loss would've affected his mood and negatively impacted his weekend as a result. You could see how much he and the rest of the players cared as they'd almost always come back and beat the next team we played.

I understand how someone with that mentality would look at the players today and feel contempt towards them swanning around living the high life days after yetbanother loss in a disgraceful season.

They don't have to put their life on hold, but I do agree with him that maybe they should keep their heads down and not draw attention to themselves on social media.

Had he been in their position he probably wouldn't have 'got on with his life' instead staying at home contemplating everything. He had a lot of drive but so did the others in his team.

Yup. It’s strange to me the way so many players from that team get slagged off on here (other than Giggs, who deserves it) for basically showing the same traits that are so desperately lacking in the shower of useless fannies that pull on the United shirt every week.

In my opinion, they are a massive problem in that they have successfully poisoned the fans' relationship towards their team.
They have shaped and are constantly driving home the narrative that this United team is morally failing rather than just not performing quite well enough. I think it's on the whole a wrong, bitter, and fateful narrative and looking at a lot of the posts in this place too many fans have taken to it.

The club needs spokespeople pushing back, problem is the only person who ever speaks is the manager.

That drive turned him into a footballer. He was a different breed.

If you talk as much as Neville, you're bound to spout a lot of nonsense.

Neville and the players during his time cared about the club and felt every defeat. The current bunch couldn't care less if they lose they get to live the high life without consequence. Agree completely with neville and carragher on this one.

I think Neville opinions are important contributions to the United discourse. He’s more expert than us and he wants the best for United. My impression is that he’s an honest person, maybe because I mostly agree with him.

What he said was wrong ? I don’t get it. On one side you agree that our players are a problem, they leak the stories, they don’t put an effort etc. which I agree with and on the other side you lot are mocking Neville who is telling them to keep it a bit down after having the worst season in recent memory individually and collectively. When you see them pics of that lot wearing chains of their initials and whatnot, posting pics like they are dogs bollocks, don’t you see the problem ? On the one side you lot complain about Brand United and on the other you find no problem at all with these players who are all about the brand on their social media. Well, this is the reason this club has become a brand than a football club.

He doesnt help matters though.constantly moaning at the fragile bunch we have
Nothing is helping the matters though and for a good while. Ole’s mollycoddling didn’t help either. At some point you have to call spade a spade. What are you scared of ? That if you moan at them, they would down tools ? or are you scared that some of the players you like would leave the club regardless of how poor they have been ?

Neville should just accept it was an emotionally charged comment and he was wrong, rather than digging a deeper and deeper hole.

Exactly this. It’s hard to imagine for most because these guys probably figure in the top 1 percentile of their profession and to achieve that and stay there takes the kind of mental self torture that would seem impossible standards by most everyday joes.

Who's Gary Neville referring to?

(Other than Avram Glazer who I spotted on TV at the F1)

It's the reason he made it at United. He wasn't particularly talented but that drive was probably the single biggest reason he became a successful footballer.

Gary Neville is a loudmouth whose ability to think falls far short of his desire to talk.

The man of the people act is all bollocks. He's a multimillionaire property developer who got his PR company to join forces with other property developers to get the workers of Manchester back into the city at the end of November 2020 in on the eve of the biggest wave of the pandemic. He's a greedy hypocrite.

Its different for Neville and Carragher. They loved their clubs. They felt defeat like a fan. Lineker has no affinity to any club. If he lost he didnt care. Clearly.

Linekar was a fantastic striker but he just didn't have the same will to win. He'll never be able to empathise with Neville.

Why would rangnick be even interested in cricket in the slightest ?
I guess it's most likely he just happened to be in Barbados and got invited? Germany do have an international side though so it's possible he is interested in cricket.

Marcus Rashford was in Dubai with Brandon Williams watching boxing, Rangnick was in Barbados and assume someone was at the UFC
