The 'hard/soft' scale helps with the delusion that New Labour were, in any form, left wing. Why is the left 'hard' and the right 'far'?
Ah, beaten to it.

Nah, Labour had a right wing well before Tony Blair was elected. The 'hard/soft' scale helps with the delusion that New Labour were, in any form, left wing.
Ah, beaten to it.
Plenty on booze, none on vegetables.I'd actually advocate a higher income tax in Scotland and a lower VAT. It's not like they spend it!
I agree it sounds preferable. Your explanation makes sense, as well.I usually think "far" sounds worse to be honest, but I can use it for the left if you'd prefer. In my brain hard left's better as it's distinguished from the "soft left" which is a fairly longstanding thing for mainstream lefties in the party.
Both are taken as equal negatives in my book.I agree it sounds preferable. Your explanation makes sense, as well.
You don't like it hard, Jippy? Both are taken as equal negatives in my book.
So I've read. Strange times.Jippy's officially of the soft left now.
Don't underestimate the influence of the shy cnuts. They'll be out in force, having walked by the polling station a couple of times to make sure the disabled parking bay is empty before they go in.My suspicion is this election probably won't go quite as well for the Tories as most people expect. They, themselves, seem pretty concerned that the inevitability of their victory is not going to help them get the vote out.
I'm anticipating a moderate increase of majority for them.
I'm not sure we'll have many shy Tories, these days. A majority of the electorate, with a huge turnout, voted Leave. I think being right wing has been sufficiently legitimised.Don't underestimate the influence of the shy cnuts. Dr Theresa: "Mr Jip, i urge you to consider the blue pill. It ensures that you can be strong and stable when it matters most."

Ah yes because nothing sums up Scottish Labour up more than the phrase "Fully embraced Corbyn since he took over the party." It is practically their slogan. How I recall the corbynistas saying Jez would win back the Scottish votes.
Which specific tax? It's late and my brain functioning at 50%.Thoughts on the Robin Hood tax Jip?

Corbyn had a -52 rating up there at the last check, -42 among 2015 scottish Labour voters.Ah yes because nothing sums up Scottish Labour up more than the phrase "Fully embraced Corbyn since he took over the party." It is practically their slogan.
The one Labour are proposing - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2017-39910293Which specific tax? It's late and my brain functioning at 50%.
Andy Slaughter's red pill has seduced me.
Well, if Brexit doesn't kill the City (and 12% of GDP), that will.Corbyn had a -52 rating up there at the last check, -42 among 2015 scottish Labour voters.

So presumably the leadership being openly anti-Corbyn has seen their vote share absolutely sky-rocket?Corbyn had a -52 rating up there at the last check, -42 among 2015 scottish Labour voters.
Figured so.Well, if Brexit doesn't kill the City (and 12% of GDP), that will.
No, they just went to the Tories instead. So presumably the leadership being openly anti-Corbyn has seen their vote share absolutely sky-rocket?

A Tory MP told a girl to "f*** off back to Scotland" when she said she'd vote for independence if a second referendum was triggered.
James Heappey's outburst came as he addressed sixth-formers at the £12,000-a-year Millfield School in Somerset.
The Conservative, who is contesting the seat of Wells, asked the children for their views as they discussed the topic of Scottish independence. When one girl said she'd vote to leave the UK, Mr Heappey, 36, replied: "Why don't you f*** off back to Scotland?"
Seems like pretty shit leadership. I trust there is an PLP approved challenger already set to go and beat Dugdale in order to get the party back? No, they just went to the Tories instead.
I'm sure if she suffers a no confidence vote she'd do the honourable thing. Her ratings aren't as bad as Corbyn's but they're still pretty bad.Seems like pretty shit leadership. I trust there is an PLP approved challenger already set to go and beat Dugdale in order to get the party back?
How bizarre, a year was apparently more than long enough to fix a broken party this side of the border. She's been in the post up there since August 2015 and not a peep?I'm sure if she suffers a no confidence vote she'd do the honourable thing. Well, given she's the 5th full time Scottish Labour leader in ten years, I'm not exactly sure you can accuse them of being unwilling to change. How bizarre, a year was apparently more than long enough to fix a broken party this side of the border. Seems like the structure of the party and particularly the way candidates are chosen is flawed. But that can't be right because every time one of those 'loony Corbynites' suggests that they're accused of refusing to criticise the leader.Well, given she's the 5th full time Scottish Labour leader in ten years, I'm not exactly sure you can accuse them of being unwilling to change.
I agree and said as much earlier. Is it not just that the left votes SNP these days because they fancy independence and the right now actually feels it's okay to vote Tory cause Davidson is sufficiently human for them to get over Thatcher?
I think Labour's an irrelevance, more than a failure, in Scotland. There just isn't room for them.
Entirely predictable. Every idea needs a credible messenger.
Labour becoming a pointless party doesn't mean she should get any credit. If Kezia Dugdale wasn't leader you'd find the Tories still in third place. You can't say Ruth is responsible for that, especially since she was exactly the same person when the Tories were crapping the bed every year pre-2015. The media down south seemed to have made her out to be some kind of messiah but she gets regularly clowned in parliament by both SNP and Labour politicians. Why wouldn't she be credited with it? She gets the highest net favourables of any politician in Scotland, took the Tories above Labour in the Scottish elections last year and is more than likely about to take them to their highest number of seats in a general election there in 25 years.
Hi there.Dobba's posts are so bloody frustrating to read.![]()
A free year off unpaid to care for a relative because they've completely gutted the actual services that could do that while you still worked? What a deal!
