Get your league tables out for the lads

I like Roy Keane and Sunderland and think they're going places. Boro are fantastic this season, will really enjoy watching them. We should have lost points in both games but didn't - makes a nice change.

If that was Diarra I saw tonight then he was the best midfielder in a red shirt!! He is absolutely sh*t as a Pompey player that's for sure.

I read the 12 page RAWK match thread of our game tonight and they were very bitter once again.

Funny how a team which is so lowly rated by the experts on there has won as much as it has. According to them

"Wayne Rooney is Dirk Kuyt with a bit of extra pace and a huge fecking dollop of cuntishness added."

See you on the 13th scousers. You're in for one hell of a game.

Don't want to burst your bubble, but Pompey have just signed Kaboul and Crouch, Muntari has gone and Distin is a pale shadow of last season. That's poor on paper and poor on pitch. I've probably jinxed ourselves against them now, but I'm calling it as I see it. Harry has f*cked up big time. Bottom half of table finish for them (maybe relegation fears?)
Non sense. They played the two best teams in Europe and it showed. Simple as that.

hull city above us ..

According to rawk the scousers were all over us and we were very lucky to get three points

No, they played ONE of the best teams in Europe (Chelsea) and Man Utd's 3rd reserves (with Park, Neville, Hargreaves, Carrick, Ronaldo, Giggs, Saha missing and Andersen and Tevez acclimatising back into English time after long air journeys).

Had you had even half of those players playing on form THEN Pompey would have played TWO of the best teams in Europe. Pompey look poor in defence (Kaboul, Distin), poor in midfield (the horrendously poor Diarra) and poor up front (I know more about Crouch than you so don't even go there! Not an improvement on Baros).

I can't believe how well they've done. I watched MOTD of their Villa match and they were fecking ferocious, attacking as if it were their cup final. Everyone had them at the bottom of their prediction tables as if they would rival Sunderland's worst PL record and go straight back down, but I think they might even be dark horses this year.

Actually we have always known he sucked, that's why we laughed so hard when you bought him originally

His first 20 games for us without a goal, despite 20 gilt edge chances per game, was a big giveaway I agree. :( Anything he did after that was nice, but not what we needed. And his incessant arm flailing and inability to head the ball properly - ever - is just demoralising. Pompey fans will find this out by November.

What I don't understand is why teams that have Crouch always seem to end up punting the long ball to him as if that's the only thing they can do with him on the field.

Looking good! 10 goals conceded, really is so important.

best defence in the league, just need to sort out the attack though.

Wait don't imply he's being premature, you created this thread after 3 games!

That's right genius. Nothing like learning from history, eh?

Why do you think I've created the 2005 CL thread, ooops, I mean the Liverpool 2009 thread? Please invite Robbo into that. :D
