With Kane and a couple of other signings? Not beyond the realms of possibility. Chelsea won it a couple of years ago for example. Only City are miles ahead of the competition.
This idea of not signing the best players because we aren’t going to win anything anyway is bizarre. It will be the same “fans” who are then up in arms with ETH when our “promising” striker scores 8 goals and we finish 6th in the league.

With the resurgence of Arsenal and the ascendancy of Newcastle, as well as the likely resurrection of Chelsea, Spurs are out of the top four picture for the foreseeable future. They'll always have Arsenal as their bitter rival, and to a lesser extent Chelsea, but Spurs are just another tricky fixture on United's schedule.

The Champions League is definitely winnable. It's just a cup competition. You don't have to be anything special. Just get a bit of luck.
In hindsight, SAF's kidnapping of Berba (while hilarious at the time) has kind of fecked over our relationship with Levy (who radiates "overcompensating for shortcomings downstairs" energy at the best of times).

They always go into overdrive when it comes to high profile signings like this. I remember the exact same stuff being churned out about Pogba and look how that turned out. Not saying Kane won’t end up at Real Madrid but they always run a narrative that it’s 100% nailed on and that isn’t always the case.
If we could get Osimhen for ~100 million I'd be on board. I don't think Napoli will part with him at that price, though. They seem to value him at 130-150 million.
As far as non-EPL players go, the only one I'd confidently jump for at those prices is Mbappe.
Kane at 100 million is a sure thing. Osimhen at 100 million is a gamble...let alone at 130 million.
I was skeptical about it with Bellingham when it looked nailed on for a while he'd be heading to Liverpool but they were always adamant he wanted Madrid and it worked out for them.
Only time I can remember recently that they haven't been able to sign one of their targets is Mbappe and that took P$G basically offering him half of their club along with all the power/influence
Apparently Ancelotti wants him 100% to replace Benzema but Perez is still dreaming of Mbappe even after missing out on him twice already so they might gamble on their chances on him next summer
If they don't sign a top 9 this summer to replace all those goals and end up having a poor season as a result while Barca repeat, I could see the fan/public/media backlash forcing Perez out before he gets the chance to go for Mbappe again.

I do find the last bit odd from fans. Kane is the single best signing we could make at striker and yet people are worried about the fee despite being linked to inferior younger players for anywhere between £40-80m. I’d much rather spend the extra £50m on Kane and improve one position to world class status and then take a gamble elsewhere.
Next summer will be Mbappe for Real, United will have to buy someone this summer who could well be a success. City will still have Haaland, Bayern/PSG aren’t in an attractive league and he wouldn’t go to another London club.

Madrid surely need a striker this summer anyway with Benzema gone. If not Kane, who? Any half decent striker will end up costing them nearly as much as Kane anyway.

Does anyone know why more players don't take advantage of the Webster ruling? From what I understand, because Kane has served more than 3 years he can essentially break his contract, with Spurs due a fee based on the salary due for the remainder of his deal. Only one or two players have ever actually done it but you would think it would at least have a bearing on the transfer fee that Spurs can demand.
