Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

Osimhen has a worse injury record than Kane does and he's what, 25?

He's not particularly injury-prone if you take away the ones that have nothing to do with how injury-prone a player is (two bouts of Covid, a cheekbone fracture, a concussion and a badly dislocated shoulder). Since these effectively don't count, his injury record is nothing out of the ordinary. He missed 14 games in 2020 with a dislocated shoulder following a fall so bad that it knocked him unconscious. Again, hardly something that can be attributed to some kind of inherent frailty. These are not injuries that one would expect him to struggle with throughout his career. They were isolated incidents with obvious causes. The same is likely true of the biceps injury he picked up last year. A muscle tear in the arm isn't likely to be caused by natural fragility in a footballer.

So if we look at the kinds of injuries that can indicate that a player is simply injury-prone, he has had:

2023: tear in abductor muscle, missed 4 games
2021: calf strain, missed 2 games
2018: calf problems, missed 2 games

And that's basically it. The rest are things like fractures, head collisions, and landing badly on his shoulder. His only two lengthy injuries were the dislocated shoulder (14 games) and the fractured cheekbone (12 games). What, do we expect him to be plagued by fractured cheekbones throughout his career?

Meanwhile, Harry Kane's injury record is filled with ankle injuries, thigh strains, hamstrings, torn ligaments and other such things which very much do present a concern for a footballer. In fact, it's kind of silly to suggest that Osimhen's injury record is worse than Kane's. It's just that Kane has happened to remain fit for the last two years. Prior to that, his injury history should actually be worrying for a team that considers buying him at the age of 30, because all of his injuries are exactly the type that could indicate that he isn't the kind of player who will age with grace.

That would be terrible for our FFP wouldn’t it? Or have Maguire and Martial values sufficiently amortised by this point?

We'd be lucky for a team to take Martial off our hands for free, never mind getting a good transfer fee.

The guy is finished as a professional footballer, his body is broken and he can't stay fit. He's a complete waste of time.

Yeah. Poor guy.

He likes to give interviews on golf courses and telling everyone how much he wants to win trophies and doesn’t want to live with regrets yada yada yada. But he’s as spineless as they come and as dumb as they come. Neither has the common sense to not sign a fecking 6 yr contract nor has guts to force a move. He deserves his dumb cnut of a brother as his agent and that lying bald prick levy as his master. For fecks sake do something you mouth breathing daughter swearing goblin looking trophy less idiot.

He is saving a few dollars having his brother as his agent though. That matters to him.

He is by running down his contract and leaving for free next summer to feck Levy over

Domestic competition only…. circa £95m (sale value + wages) would be the cost to Levy for just one season.

The figures don’t add up, Levy would have to be off his tits if he genuinely wanted to keep Kane next season.

Thinking Levy will sell.

My Spurs supporting cousin says the same but doesn't see him being allowed to leave until after Utd game. Not sure whether I believe that myself but Levy is vindictive

Levy might sell with a proviso Kane doesn’t play in the Spurs Utd game?

I'm sure we could cope for that game, however still got serious doubts he is gonna go back on his word and sell to us

If it came down to signing two average players for a total of 100m or one truly world class player who fills our massive hole in the starting XI for the same 100m, it's a pretty easy decision.

Yeah IF the budget was indeed £150m plus sales then would spend on Onana, Kane and look for cheaper CM too

Without any doubt. We don’t know what the budget is, however, which is a good thing. Maybe it’s well above 150m, but if it’s not and and we’re blowing 70m on Mount and now possibly 50m on Onana (had to correct “Obama”) we not have much to spend on the greatest priority by far…a striker.

Completely agree. And remember Rabiot is on a free as well.

150m for Kane, Onana and Rabiot is a buzzing window imo.

Just wish this Mount stuff would stop and wish the Glazers would just finally fecking feck off.

Rabiot will stay at Juve, however desperately hoping we sign the other two. Can definitely see us getting Onana but not Kane until he grows a set and tells it to Levy straight

I have a feeling there must be an assurance Kane is staying, because why the feck would Maddison be set on going to Spurs otherwise?

No one else is going for him?

But from what my Leicester mate is saying, that was because he wanted to go to spurs.

Think they may have been interested in signing him even before Newcastle, however don't think it means anything in terms of Kane leaving

Yeah, looks like Rabiot is another that got away.

The idea that we can snap up all these free agents at will is pretty annoying. For every player we show interest in there seems to be a list of guys people say we can simply sign for free.

Rabiot is the main one (and he would have been a great addition) but there’s people saying we should sign Kane and Mount next year for freeeee. It’s so easy. At one point we were getting Benzema and I’m amazed we didn’t get Messi. After all they were FREE players - sign ‘em up and let’s party on. It’s nearly always bollocks.

Tottenham is a brilliant move for him. And none of the 5 teams likely to finish ahead of him are keen?

Newcastle were. Pure guess work from me, but I have a feeling he thinks playing with Kane will help his England chances.

Arsenal were crying for Maddison at one point - maybe they think he’s regressed.

No ones getting number 1 spot until miracle worker Pep goes. So we should be able to climb one place with younger players if we're building for that ultimate plan

As a Bayern Fan, I think this is a mistranslation. I have read the same news in German and there it said 'preferred destination if he would move abroad'

Wouldn't surprise me as we all know Levy is determined he is not selling to a rival

Yeah sure. Kane would prefer to join Bayern over Real Madrid. Definitely.
