Barclays Premier League
KC Stadium
Sunday 24th May 2009
KO - 16:00 BST
I'm not really keen on celebrating on message boards. All you can do is go around various threads typing WHEHEEEOA18OOOOO. My plan for the day is to sit screaming by my computer while I discuss dodgy offside decisions and Darkplace.Sad bastardCELEBRATEE!!!
Just a question; would a 10 day break take the edge off Rooney, Ronaldo etc. I know they need a rest but how do they stay sharp. Come on for 10 minutes or so?
The question is when Fergie selects the team for Barca. If he does it before this game, I wouldn't be shocked if we see starts for one of Scholes/Giggs and two of Berbatov/Tevez/Park (though Scholes and Giggs are so incredibly old that he might want to rest them even if he's just planning to have them on the bench in Rome). If he doesn't, he might rest everyone who's in contention for the starting XI. Or not.
That's probably what I would go for too, though I'm not sure whether I would choose Scholes or Giggs.I'm really expecting that the starting 11 to face Barcelona will be:
Van der Sar
O'Shea Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Carrick Scholes Anderson
Park Ronaldo Rooney
--------------------Foster--------------------
Rafael------Neville------------Evans------Fabio
---------Fletcher------------Gibson-----------
Nani-------------------------------------Tosic
------------Macheda----Welbeck--------------
Subs: PIG, Eckersley, C.Evans, Possebon, Petrucci, promising youngster #1, promising youngster #2
Sersiouly, no need for anyone who'll be involved vs. Barca to be anywhere near this match. It'd be just asking to pick up an injury
Petrucci hasnt played any football since February
No.
3 wins, 1 draw.
7 scored, 2 conceded.

It think it's safe to say Rooney won't start.
