Hull City vs. Manchester United

We were abysmal. We had no midfield and left Suarez with everything to do. Skrtel had a couple of horror show moments too.
I don't understand how you did not win that, but fair play to Hull, they were good that day.

-------------De Gea--------------
Rafael--Smalling-Evans----Evra
--------Jones--Cleverley---------
Young------Kagawa------Januzaj
-------------Rooney---------------

Kagawa fit? If not, Hernandez up front with Rooney in behind.
Young has some form and confidence and it would be interesting to see him on the right for a change and not having to cut inside.Could be a plan!

Yeah it would be good for him I think, not to appear so one dimensional.

DO people think Valencia played well in his last few games? I wouldn't have him in my lineup.

Against Villa yes, but he was his usual self against West Ham. I wouldn't lose any sleep if Young came in.

@2 MAN MIDFIELD I liked your idea of using Young on the right, could really help his confidence as I always remember him putting in better crosses from the right (didn't know if that was just me) be good to see our strikers get some real service.

In general, I'd like to see Young come into the team for Valencia, although I'm not sure if for this game. I think that the way they play, with El Mohamady at wing-back, Valencia could be a good weapon in the space in behind.

------------------------------De Gea--------------------

---Fabio---------Smalling--------N.Vidic-------Evra--

---Young-------Fletcher------P.Jones---------Giggs-

----------------------Kagawa---------------------------

------------------------------Rooney-------------------

subs: Johnstone, Rafael, Rio, Cleverly, Januzaj, Valencia, Hernandez
Prediction: 1-2 Fabio, Kagawa

Giggs should get a game here, been a long time since he made his last appearance. Or Moyes will probably save him for Norwich which is a tougher game on paper

Elmohammady plays on the opposite side. Wouldn't do Valencia much good unless you're suggesting playing him as a left winger.

Don't see the point in rotating here. Hull shouldn't be underestimated if we want to score more than one. Put Rooney up front with Kagawa behind would be all I change from the West Ham win.
Hopefully Fabio will get a slot on the bench ahead of Buttner.
I think we can win this comfortably if we get an early goal.
Come on Moyes.....

We should bring in Young/Kagawa instead of Valencia and shift Januzaj to the right side where I think he's a lot better.

De Gea; Rafael, Smalling, Evans, Evra; Jones, Cleverley; Valencia, Januzaj, Young; Rooney.

I've gone with that purely based on the fact that Hull will park the bus for 90 minutes, and hopefully we will have enough creativity in the side to put a few goals on them. Plenty of work rate and confidence in there as well. I'd love to see Januzaj get a start more centrally, personally.

Hopefully a decent atmosphere and we can get the job done. Our vocal support this season has been as good as its been is a long time, so I don't doubt that.

Oh yea, the other wing back then. Brady does that role for them I believe.

the ironic thing is that our weakest position (central midfield) is where we have looked strongest the last couple of games. Cleverley have started to look the talent he is - and Jones was outstanding against West Ham

Team picks itself for me, Young has earned his start. Valencia has had 2 great games vs Villa and Leverkusen recently but we have to remember the left backs in both games were disgracefully bad. I predicted another stormer from him when I saw he was up againt McCartney but he managed to mess up nearly every attack.

-----------------De Gea --------------------

Rafael ------ Evans ----- Smalling -------Evra

------------Jones --- Cleverley-------------

Young---------Rooney-------------Januzaj

---------------Welbeck--------------------

Adnan and Young can swap wings, would quite like to see how Rafael and Januzaj link up on the right. Evra and Young have a good understanding on the left too.

West Ham and Villa both have a weak midfield, but yeah it's improved.

Brady is injured, I think Figueroa plays on the left instead

I only saw the highlights of the game against West Ham, I am guessing Kilbane's Valencia love was misplaced reading these posts. At any rate I wouldn't imagine Moyes will change a lot, we created a lot and looked comfortable from what I saw, a settled side is a good thing.

Moyes: "This is the time when miracles happen," he said. "Let us hope there is one for Robin van Persie and Michael Carrick."

His pressers are improving, marginally.

Starting Young would be a backwards step. By all means bring him off the bench for 15 minutes or so, I can't see him rising to the occasion as a starter.

With Nani out, any chance of a front 3 of Rooney, Kagawa & Januzaj? Giggs, Jones & Cleverly in midfield.
Moyes doesn't do 4-3-3 does he?

He might get in behind, but what use is it if he smashes it out of play as soon as he does?

I think Hull away requires a stronger team than Norwich away (though I expect the team to remain quite similar). Strongest possible eleven here would do for me, without rushing Carrick and van Persie that is. Save one or both for Spurs.

Its weird how we have to watch out for who Newcastle are playing next to see if we can leap frog them

strong team possible with just one or two changes perhaps. i'll go for

--------------------------de gea-------------------------------
rafael------------smalling---------evans----------------evra
valencia---------jones------------cleverley------------young
-------------------------rooney---------------------------
------------------------welbeck------------------------------

if welbeck is not fit then i'll probably put rooney upfront with kagawa or even maybe januzaj as the number 10.
young is playing well of late, and maybe januzaj can do with a bit of rest here so i'll go with young for this one.
keep the back 4 plus jones. solid foundation here.
if we are coasting then i hope we will see fabio on for evra.

The Match of the Day analysis was pathetic.

They had clearly already thought of the idea of Valencia improving us as a team prior to our match as half of the highlights were from the Villa match (which he was fantastic in). He was pretty awful which was surprising considering it was such a good team performance and Rafael also having a stormer on the right. He has to get dropped for me, would be Nani but seeing as he is out Young deserves a shot

play as strong a team as we have available for this one. Then make a few changes for Norwich.

Sounds like Carrick and then VP are bubbling away close, but no point in doing it too soon, as any re-occurrence will see them out for tonnes of games.

Got tickets for this match, the last time I saw Hull City v Manchester United live, was at the old Hull City ground - Boothferry park. George Best was playing !!!

I agree.I am enjoying Clevs and Jones right now and so no rush for Carrick.Robin can rest too as Danny is in good form.Possibley the bench for one or both but not starting.

I would be tempted to play Young on the right and Adnan left.Where's Kagawa at with his fitness? he was a non playing sub last saturday.

I feel strangely confident for this one.Two away wins from the next two fixtures will have us close to getting back into the top four. What for a return to some decent home form would do for us also.Spurs NYD will be a tough game, but succesful trips over the next two to three days will see the place bouncing against Spuds!
