Hull City vs. Manchester United

Team picks itself for me, Young has earned his start. Valencia has had 2 great games vs Villa and Leverkusen recently but we have to remember the left backs in both games were disgracefully bad. I predicted another stormer from him when I saw he was up againt McCartney but he managed to mess up nearly every attack.

-----------------De Gea --------------------

Rafael ------ Evans ----- Smalling -------Evra

------------Jones --- Cleverley-------------

Young---------Rooney-------------Januzaj

---------------Welbeck--------------------

Adnan and Young can swap wings, would quite like to see how Rafael and Januzaj link up on the right. Evra and Young have a good understanding on the left too.

That's what I would like to see.

Hull are absolutely awful. It's a source of immense frustration to me that we didn't rack up some goal difference against them when ordinarily we should have won 7-0.

No they're not, they have a pretty good home record, and are tough to beat. I dont think Uniteds defence will be able to cope with them, but I dont think United will lose. Going for 2-2.

What

Yes they're good at home (Conceded just 3 goals and only 1 defeat).

They've scored just 14 goals in 17 games and they don't have Messi as attacking player.

So (IMO) we should have more problems in Hull's half than Hull will trouble us.

By today's standards it was rough, but you could get straight off the train through the ticket barrier and onto the terraces

Yeah, I only went in the home end. Saw my first United match there in the league cup in the mid-80s. It was the second leg and United had already won 5-0 at OT so it was a pedestrian but United won 1-0, McClair.

Never seen another ground with a supermarket built into one of the stands- my mother did her weekly shop there. Long time ago now, not been to the KC yet (barring the gift shop just to see the place).

As of last weekend Hull City possessed the fourth best home defence in Europe's top five leagues, although in general terms Bruce's prior record against United isn't much to write home about.

The side Moyes sends out may have to be patient and cunning but i think we can continue our good form.

In an ideal world i think Kagawa and Hernandez could both be suited to this match however the only way i seen that happening is if the former plays nominally on the left wing.

Thats pretty impressive.

Seeing as I doubt Januzaj will start this one, as he's played quite a bit recently (and will probably start the next game), I think Young will start this. Don't think it's very possible for the lineup to be very exciting on the wings given that our options are Valencia, Young, or a Kagawa coming back from injury, or Januzaj who is probably a little tired.
Expecting:
De Gea
Rafael Evans Smalling Evra
Valencia Cleverley Jones Young
Kagawa
Rooney

This will be a tough game

And after points dropped to a right few teams we previously beat easily if we really want to finish top 4 and maybe fight to retain our title we HAVE to win this - no more slip ups - momentum is building with 4 wins in a row

Come on United

It's Brucey, we always get a Brucey bonus from his teams.

I know the early games are not great for the fans in England but they are good for us here in Sydney, 11.45pm KO, absolutely buzzing, no alarm needed.

For some reason, I think we will do well. Will be a tight opening, but we will win comfortably once we take control. I hope.

Is it still Christmas day or boxing day there

Perfect time for the match, get to watch it before it's off to yet another family dinner!

The thought of more food....

Thankfully the only thing getting stuffed today are the Hull City tigers

Boom

For the first time in a long time I have actual Sky Sports 1 in HD. Now it's down to Phil Jones to make this day even more magical.

Wear protective eyewear. If he pulls a face in HD, who knows what will happen to your tv.

Have to praise Bruce for turning a bunch of mediocre players into a decent P.L side....but I just can't get myself to be afraid of a team with a lone striker whose record is 4 goals in his last 43 League matches.

But in all fairness - they have a decent midfield with Livermore, Hugglesbone and Meyler

Hull are usually playing three at the back, our wingers should - on paper - have a field day. They also offer very little attacking threat, close them down quickly and avoid set-pieces, then we should be fine. Come on United!

The team sheets wil be passed to the media in 8 mins anyway (an hour before kick-off), which is when we usually find out.
Oh I know that.. Was just wondering what happened to the "mole"

The game isn't played on paper

Comfortable win. 0-3.

Super Danny Welbeck with two goals.
