Inter Milan vs. Manchester United

Fabio -- Rio O'Shea/Evans Evra

Fletcher Carrick Giggs

Ronaldo Berbatov Rooney

I think the plan will be to keep the focus off our defence and really attack. Will be a difficult game whatever the team. I have faith in SAF and the team. I don't understand Evans going and not staying back for treatment if he's not fit. SAF can gamble at times, but usually he'd ensure that the long term of the player is right.

No Problem with Fabio at Right Back for me - he's right footed. Could get take out of position, sure - but also could really keep their wingers on their toes.

van der Sar
O'Shea - Ferdinand - Evans - Evra
Fletcher - Carrick - Giggs
Ronaldo - Berbatov - Rooney

OR

van der Sar
Fletcher - Ferdinand - O'Shea - Evra
Park - Carrick - Giggs
Ronaldo - Berbatov - Rooney

But I dunno--predicting a United c2008/09 team is growing impossible. I hope we score; coming back to Old Trafford with an away goal and with a reinstated Vidic waiting would be beautiful, as would seeing Mourinho getting his comeuppance for the farcical denouement of our 2004 Champions League campaign.

Greatest lineup ever. But shouldn't you consider moving Park to the right and Ronnie on the left?

evans and oshea will start .. but inter wont be easy ..

not really looking forward to this :nervous:

that isnt too defensive is it ..
nightmare to pick a side with 5 midfielders with strikers like rooney, berba and tevez all fit

Thats very defensive if you ask me, Fletcher and Carrick would swap anytime but both would protect the back four, If you wanna make it more attacking then put Giggs for either Fletch or Carrick.

Garrick and Fletcher are a better options than Giggs for this one IMO. Watch Giggs play a blinder.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

THAT WOULD BE CLASS!!!

Scholes has been great at tackles this year. I wonder how he would do in the back four.

I really think it would be nearly impossible to get past:

Fletcher
Rio
Scholes
Evra

Can you imagine Scholesy going in on one of their strikers in the penalty area :nervous::nono:

I hold my breath everytime Scholesy goes in for a tackle

Fletcher played at RB in important games like Milan at OT and delivered some very good performances.

I hope we give him such a shock tomorrow. With our decimated back line it is not a good idea to play a defensive minded game. We will only be putting more pressure on our defenders who are playing out of position. If we keep Inter Milan on the back foot for the majority of the game then we have a great chance of getting a result. Our attack still remains the most potent part of our team.

YES!! Definitely!!

ATTACK-ATTACK .. ATACK! ATACK! ATACK!

If we come out all guns firing & get an early goal, I reckon they`ll capitulate like a pricked balloon.

Rooney 1st goal - United 2-0 (£5 singles £10 double)

Calm your nerves. we'll win 3-1!

That's what I think actually.

It'll be a tight game, but we'll edge it to 2-1 then in the final 7/8 minutes we'll get a third - I'm predicting Berbatov to get it.

OT then awaits with a 2 away-goal lead.

Sweet.

Attack is the best form of defence!

changed my mind, we'll deffo score and probably win 1-0.

I'd be happy for a early goal to silence the crowd and hit'em on the counter attack...

But we all know what United are like in Europe, we'll feck something up, make it hard for ourselves, wait to the final minute of the 2nd leg to win the tie and give millions of fans heart failure in the process ;)

I read somewhere that the special one has not lost a home game in 7 years... Is that true?? If so that's something special i would say...

Other then when we beat Juve away a few years back when Giggsy had a blinder I dont ever remember us attacking until we had fallen behind.

I dont think SAF is going to attack inter. I certainly wish he would but i feel it will be a tight game with the odd goal winning it.

hopefully it will be us.

but if i had to predict

1-1

We're gonna' kick their arse.

I still reckon we will for some reason.

If our front players play like they can, they won't be able to handle us.

O'shea will keep adriano at bay as well.

Away from home Park will play, especially to cover Maicon's runs. Ronaldo on the right, Berba and Rooney up top. Centre mid is anyones guess, i wait and wonder. Defence depends on time, if Fabio starts i'll be very surprised O'Shea and Evans would have to be out for that to happen.
