Is Pochettino's time at Spurs coming to an end?

Gonna be hilarious when Spurs come crashing down. I think they have peaked, and it's all downhill from here.

Reached the CL final, got comprehensively beaten. Barely finished 4th. The players must be thinking that's the best they can do in a season.

On top of that, they have a new stadium to pay off. Eriksen, Vertonghen and Aldeweireld will be leaving for cheap/free soon. Their defence looks utter garbage without Vertonghen and Aldeweireld. Their new signings haven't bedded in.

The manager seems like he is fed up and looking elsewhere. Constantly picking battles with the owner and is now complaining about the lack of harmony within the team.

England's Saviour Sir Harry Kane looks undroppable but Spurs look much better without him.

The fans are in a mood to get rid of Pochettino too.

Troubles all over. The stadium might feck them over bad.

Poch was much, much more upbeat in the press conference, seemed in a much better mood and much more direct. Need the performances to improve now, 3 points tomorrow and more on.

It is aside from the bit about Pochettino. His public comments are very unusual and are clearly indicative of a manager who is far from happy. Put it this way, I'd be surprised if he's your manager for the opening game next season.
 
Did you hear his latest public quote? Poch has been leaving Spurs for the last few seasons according to people, he may or may not go next season. I am sure it probably depends on how this season goes.
 
Nobody must judge Ole based on what's going on now. I'm sure anybody apart from SAF cannot manage to put random teams in and get away with wins. SAF will always be one of a kind. Ole will add good players to this team and the feeling inside Old Trafford will change but give it time.

Mauricio Pochettino will not be giving up on his dream to win trophies with Tottenham without a fight.

The Argentine has seen his future thrown into doubt just months after reaching the club's first Champions League final.

A string of poor results and uncertainty surrounding the futures of several crucial first-team players has left fans feeling disillusioned.


The 47-year-old has now hit back at claims that his time at Spurs is nearing its natural end, and reassured fans of his commitment.

When asked why he does not look as buoyant this season, Pochettino said: “It’s not like this. I explain why – in football I suffered two big disappointments.

“One when I was a player and there was the penalty at the World Cup. It was always my dream to play in a World Cup, my massive, big dream. OK, we played three games and went home.

“We went there unbeaten, a candidate to win the trophy and went home in the Group stage. I stayed at home and didn’t go out for 10 days.

“Another day was with Tottenham to win a trophy and the closest to win a trophy was of course the Champions League and it was made even bigger because it was the Champions League.

“To achieve the final of the Champions League with Tottenham – no-one expected that. It was more than a dream, more than a dream. In that moment I felt disappointed and then I took a train, after the train, to Barcelona and again you feel like you are depressed.

“In your mind, you expect to move on after a week and say ‘I want to, again, be there.’ You cannot be happy.

“Yes, we have some disagreements, of course. But I am happy now because I am a positive and of course this season is going to another massive challenge. But we must have that energy to try to be contenders and try again to fight for big things and I’m going to try until the end.”

When asked what the future might hold for the club, the former Espanyol and Southampton boss remained optimistic over the chance of silverware.

Quizzed about whether Spurs can win trophies with him in charge, Pochettino said: “I still believe that we can. (That next step) is hard. It is hard.

“How tough it is to be in the last stage? It is difficult. Because it's not only to get to the last stage, the most difficult thing is to keep this performance and be consistent. I believe (they can do it with me) and I hope yes.

"But football is not an ordinary business. And that is the summary of football. In football two plus two sometimes is four but sometimes it is not four.

“The fans are always right to criticise. When you don't win you need accept that you were wrong. The fans are the only ones who you have to accept the criticism from and you cannot complain about that. They are right to express their feelings and emotions.

“The fans are emotional. The fans want to win always. The fans love the club, the fans love the players, the fans sometimes love the coaching staff and manager, sometimes.

“Of course you cannot say anything about the fans. The fans keep the game alive that is so beautiful. We are here because of them and that is why they can always give their opinion.”

Hopfully this is him coming back, getting to the final and not performing must have really hurt him, seems a lot more upbeat in the last few days. We will see tomorrow.
 
Doesnt look like Poch is going anywhere. Really the only result in the league for them that was a disaster was Newcastle at home. I feel a lot of teams will go to Leicester and find it tough. And they got draws away at Arsenal and City.

The club needs to move on those players who want out though, Eriksen, Rose, Alderweireld.

For that to happen clubs have to bid, both Toby and Eriksen will go on a free next summer, Rose has been complaining for years if he wanted out so bad he would be gone.

Not sure why?
They never win anything, outside of a once every 10-12 years cup, and traditionally haven't touched the top positions, so they'd only be back to where they've usually been?
Plus they haven't used a "cheat code" of Oil money to illegitimately boost their performance either.

Now Man City - that WOULD be hilarious if their owners pulled out and they slumped to where they should be
 
I like Spurs, I used to enjoy watching their games even when they were serial bottlers and didn't have as good a side as they do now. Now obviously, there's more rivalry and Levy has always been a twat so that rankles a bit but I'd much rather have them in the top four than any of the current bunch.

This is the post of a man who watches Spurs a few times a season. Either you don't really know what you're talking about or you're being disingenuous for the wind-up value. The first option seems more likely given your proliferation of tired third-hand, statistically illiterate memes like the "better without Kane" thing, which is particularly (un)funny coming straight off the back of a loss to Colchester in which almost every major Spurs player was involved at some point except Harry.
 
It seems a lot of the media already talking like Poch is gone. I think if they don't beat Southampton there is a big risk but still a little soon. That said would a win this weekend just paper over much bigger long term cracks? It does feel the relationship is damaged quite badly at the moment and Spurs are trapped in this vicious cycle each season. Perhaps it needs to break.

But I'm still in support of bringing in Poch because IMO he's the best man available unless we are willing to bring in someone like Nagelsmann. Poch brings in youth, knows his to build a team and most importantly, has a good style of play. He could be going through a rough patch like the one Klopp was going through in his last season at Dortmund. No, I'm not comparing Klopp to Poch, but there seem to be similarities. It's a risk no doubt, but i doubt there is a better alternative available if Ole continues to disappoint
 
We took Jose on after a real meltdown the season before....if we took Poch on, would it be history repeating?
 
He just needs a change of scenery. Something sle to work with.
Missing out on Poch would be like missing out on Klopp all those years ago imo

Poch to us don't make sense. Apart from having a record worse than ours, he ll cost around 32 million unless Levy sacks him.
Moreover his signings at Spurs didn't set the world alight either
