Israel - Palestine Discussion | Post Respectfully | Discuss more, tweet less

So you ignored my question above. Bravo.
He’s ignoring any question that makes him question or critically think about his abhorrent beliefs. I’ve posed a few questions to him a few days ago asking what he thinks of, what he would term, antisemitic Jews such as Chomsky, Pappe, Finkelstein etc which he just ignores. He’s best ignored himself if he doesn’t wish to engage with others honestly and intellectually.

I think its abhorrent. Not sure why they feel the need to do it.

Happened with the British/US army at Abu Gharib and let's not forget Hamas used bodycams to document their brutality and streamed on Facebook Live to the victims friend's and family.

This is trivialising the crimes being committed by the IDF today, in a way that could very easily be illegal in 50 years time.

Yes, I posted a video here on snipers blind folding Palestinians and hunt them like animals.

Now, answer my question?

This is not verification of a Doctor saying that a load of children were brought into a hospital with single sniper wounds to the head.

It's from a US doctor who wrote an article in the LA Times this weekend and has been on CNN discussing their experience.

I replied to you on Wednesday. Stop asking me the same question.
You said, I dont know ask the IDF. And i thought it was not you who claimed al shifaa hospital was a command center.

But now after checking, it was you who said "now we know al shifaa hospital is an operation center"

So are you ready to back on your beliefs and say that information coming from Israel / IDF is probably bs and a lie?

Or you will you continue to parrot everything they tell you?

So much respect for Celtic fans. Not the club who are still trying to disavow themselves from these fans. Shame on the club.

I was thinking about buying many Celtic products but will look to buying fan made stuff instead.

Ipswitch new signing Ali Al Hammadi

Swansea fc said they did not take it down because the mistook the flag with palestine's flag, they took it down because it was supporting an opponent player in the home fans section. The supporter (who is a Swansea supporter) of Iraqi origin said, they stewards specifically told the supporter we do not allow political symbols in conflicts despite the supporter telling them this was not Palestine's flag.

I can sort of understand why they want to distance themselves from all political stuff considering their history. Don't forget this also the same set of fans who chanted Up the Ra at Old Trafford. Love this statement though!

This is a highly misleading presentation. Those words were never said and the words that were said have been twisted and taken out of context.

Context: Shtayyeh, who is definitely being slippery, has just stated that he considers that part of the political reality of Palestine is that Hamas has to be dealt with and suggested he is open to a detente between the PA and Hamas, but only if Hamas accept the PA's political platform. The interviewer is, to put it mildly, sceptical.

Interviewer: "I mean, we're talking about Hamas here. This is, you know, an organisation that has a history of undermining peace through violence. They reject the Oslo Accords, they're committed to armed resistance against Zionism. I mean look at the brutality of October 7th where they slaughtered more than a thousand people, took hundreds of hostages - the youngest being nine months old; evidence of sexual violence, rape, mutilation...Does Hamas really deserve another chance?"
Shtayyeh: "Look, as I told you, one should not continue focussing on October 7th. I told you at the very beginning that no way...that no way we accept, no way we accept any killing of any civilian innocent people, this is something that we should put behind ourselves. Under any circumstances that we need to have a situation in which palestinians are united but again on our political agenda. We are not going to go to their ground, we are not going to go to their ground, we want them to come to our ground. Our ground is very clear: Two states on the borders of '67 through peaceful means, [Talk continues]"
Seems like pie in the sky stuff. Not a chance in hell Israel would accept Hamas as a viable partner for anything. Nonetheless at no point is the world told to forget about October 7th.

Here's the interview (relevant part starts at 15.31):

Like when Hamas captured the hostages and took them into Gaza on pick up trucks. Crowds of jubilant Palestinians spitting and beating their dead bodies as they drove through.

Murderous psychopaths.
I guess this is a step in the right direction, admitting there's no real difference between hamas terrorists and israel terrorists. The question now is, why do you support one set of terrorists?

It is pretty accurate. You can argue about semantics (forget vs. should not continue to focus).

Later on, Shtayyeh himself felt the need to clarify his remarks. So, Yousef clearly got the point.

Many others got the point as well:

We will see want will be the result of Moscow talks. Amin al-Husseini got picture with Hitler in Berlin. These guys will have picture with Putin in Moscow. You cant make this up.

Argue semantics? The tweet you posted quoted Shtayyeh saying words he didn't say in a context free environment. As for clarification, he had already 'clarified' his remarks earlier in the same interview (06.24):

Shtayyeh:"You are asking about now. yes? My duty is to make it clear to the audience so that the people understand the macro picture not only the little tiny micros. Even though the situation of October 7th has been disaster, catastrophic for everybody and we don't accept the fact that civilians have been killed; this is something that we totally don't accept but we should not allow the cycle of violence every now and then to repeat itself.
Quite clearly this is not an appeal for the world to forget, but an appeal to place October the 7th in the context of cycles of violence. The chap you quoted used disingenuous phrasing so others would reach jaundiced conclusions.

You can hear the reaction of the audience when he said it (around 17:40). There is no other way to understand it. Fair play to him, he immediately realized how that sounded and followed up with a corrective rhetoric how we denounce what happened on October 7.

Even when hammered with facts, you still try to twist them and have the last word.

You're truly shameless.

How bizarre that the only way out of this for the Israeli's, led by the Zionist cnuts, is to start a bigger war with Lebanon.
