Italian Serie A - 2020-2021

Ronaldo has failed to produce the goods once again when it matters. Flat track bully this season with 66% of his league goals (10) coming against 5 teams 13th or below.

Marco Giampaolo's relieved of his duties. I guess this was coming given that they're in a relegation battle with a team that should be doing better. All of that work in the summer to give him the squad that he wanted only to let him go soon after...

Zlatan’s first start since the injury. Took him 7 minutes to score.

Zlatan is a special type of player, he was always very good, world class in most of his seasons, but, i cant really tell the difference between his performances now and back then.

Did he ever decline? Feels like he as been consitently at this level since forever.

I think he has improved since last season. He is incredible so far and it’s now 7 matches and 11 goals. That’s insane. Coming back from injury and playing like this. Truly amazing.

Zlatan is something else. 12 goals in 7 starts (and one game as a sub) - 39 years old. Thirty fecking nine.

He truly does age like wine.

Mandzukic officially a Milan player now, he might be well past his best but I think he might provide the extra push Milan will need to win the league this year.

Guy was a disaster at Milan aswell. Their rebirth started from the very moment he was sacked last October. Not really sure where the hype came from. Kept Empoli up in 15/16 but was nothing extraordinary about that.

Did o.k at Sampdoria but didn't qualify them for europa during his three seasons there when their squad was good enough to get 7th or 8th. Finished 9th, 10th and 11th and ironcially Torino finished ahead of them all three seasons.

Probably shows difference between Serie A and Premier league in promoting home coaching talent. Giampaolo gets keys to one of the biggest clubs in europe while Eddie Howe and Sean Dyche are probablt waiting for Crystal Palace to come up for their next "big" job.

AS Roma made SIX subs last night against Spezia.:D
Their captain Pellegrini warned Fonseca but they didn't listen to him.

Udinese are the brighton of italy only with less poor goalkeeping/defending and more sheer bad luck

Btw scesny made possibly the save of the season on lozano in the supercup

Cristiano with the poacheriest of poacher's goals

1-0

Just found it a bit odd, bit like playing the Community shield in Bournemouth.

They played the cup final in Rome didn't they so thought it would be played there.

Scesny with another matrix save at the death then morata makes it 2-0 with the final kick of the game

Napoli

Why can't Juve play each game day like this? I don't even mean the quality of football itself, but the drive, the wanting, the fight for the second ball, the not dropping back after being up 1 goal and wanting to kill the game assertively, moving the ball fast... The *attitude*.

Real Madrid wants Hakimi back, Inter didn’t pay the instalments
That's trademark top grade bullshit by that ridiculous sports tabloid, already officialy refuted by Inter, Real, and player's agent.

Like any proper fake news, it doesn't even have internal sense (you just can't forcibly get a player back mid-season over disputes on payment instalments).

Big day in Serie A.

Ac Milan-Atalanta (Ibra starting) and Udinese-Inter both kicking off now.

Atalanta were the better team in first half. Milan was poor and Josip Ilicic is class.

What a save by Musso!!!
That one in the first half on Lautaro?
Yeah good save but Lautaro really made poor use of that Musso passing blunder.
Bad first touch forced him to rush the shot on the run with two defenders sliding on the ball, he could have easily put himself in the position of calmly firing an unstoppable shot or assisting Lukaku if he didn't bork that.

Were Atalanta really on that bad a run to be 10 points off Milan even if they win this. Surprised just looking at the table now they're below likes of Roma and Napoli who've had loads of average results recently.

Edit: Bet365 not updating their position for some reason, 4th and 7 points off the top and they're the sort who can win 5-6 games on the bounce so will probably like to stay off the radar a bit.

Lukaku always points to the ground in front of his feet when his teammates don't pass to him like he's always a sure thing to score.

Also Atalanta make it 3, Inter will kick themselves if they don't get a win.

godo. feck Milan and their obnoxious fans.
