Rachel Riley's rapid descent into a frothing Corbynphobic nutcase has definitely been one of the weirdest features of modern British political discourse in recent times. I followed her for years because she looks good in a dress, but I've had to unfollow her because she has become absolutely rabid in her hatred for Corbyn.

My very Pakistani name is pronounced in an anglicized way, it always has been because the English language doesn't pronounce letters in the same way the Urdu alphabet does, so when my name is pronounced by English people, they pronounce it as they read it or understand it according to their understanding of language. I've gotten used to it. if someone tried to pronounce it correctly, it wouldn't offend me. It might surprise me because it seems the only person who pronounce it correctly are Pakistani people but offend? No.

If I'm honest, all I know of is the Israel/Palestine situation and given the strong opinions of both sides, I don't have an opinion on the matter nor do I want to research it and have one.
Her one stance is to stand up against antisemitism, which is obviously a noble perspective.
The problem is that in doing so, she doesn't care if she's racist against other ethnic minorities - also she only calls out antisemitism when it's to do with Labour or Corbyn, so you have to question exactly what her motives are too.
Yep, similar with my Ghanaian name - and I personally know dozens of people who have shortened their name, or changed it completely just to assimilate in a society where the majority are likely to mispronounce it.
