Jose is making a squad of warriors!

Only a matter to time when the players turn on him and get him fired like the Chelsea players did.

Dont want to make it sound like our players are angels but do not think they are same cnut level like that Chelsea bunch. I mean they turned on JM and helped in sacking him while fans were on Jose`s side. In our case, last season they could easy pull the same vs LvG and nobody would say a bad word because fans turned on LvG in huge fashion, instead they kept going and at the end they won FA cup.

You are right, but Jose Mourinho brings thing into another dimension! LVG never came out and attack players in public; Jose loves to criticise players and, 1 day, 1 day, it'll come back to bit him. Only a matter of time!

The question is will the players still trust him if he failed to qualify for the CL? Will opposition managers fear him again?

Anyway, I didn't see a team of Warriors yesterday!

You can't deny that the performances and mentality of the squad has improved by leaps and bounds.

Yes we have been shit/unlucky in our goal scoring at OT. We also seem to be ravaged by injuries at the crucial stage of the season.

However we have largely been the dominant side in all of the matches we played. 25 unbeaten is impressive even with the 10 home draws. Jose is clearly building the same types of teams he has in the past. Ones that are machine like and don't lose matches.

Agree with the ban in training and the team bus. 48 hours before a game seems a bit extreme though.

Imagine if it was applied this season,

Monday, tuesday till evening - social media day
Friday till noon - social media day.

Performance wise we have improved a lot had Mata (mata has been good this year but is capable of more) and Martial been scoring to the best of their abilities we would atleast be comfortably in the top four. The mentality to me is still the same. Just like last season we have found ourselves with countless opportunities to break into the top four and just just like last year we fluff it at that hurdle. Our last three performances in the league have been good beating Chelsea ,Middlesbrough and drawing with city. When we are supposed to finally break into the top four by beating a bottom three side at home we crumble yet again and left relying on other teams

Then we can we get another manager in, let the same players underperform, blame the new guy and keep repeating the cycle.

Sounds like a plan.

No, a manager can manage a squad without being such a little b***h. He is making excuses for his own failures.

If the players did that here they'd get fecking crucified and rightly so. They've earned nothing to be in a position to do that.

Who's going to crucify them? Like they give a feck.

Mourinho is a winner who demands high standards and extraordinary dedication from his players. Look at the players who loved him and those who loathe him and its clear to me who i will give the benefit of the doubt.

Like Ronaldo, Pepe, Ramos, and Casillas?

The big players at Chelsea and Madrid always had the option of going crying to the chairman the moment they didn't feel like doing what was asked of them, which is exactly what they did. Thankfully Utd isn't run by clowns, so the only option is to put in the hard work and do your job properly or get shown the door, as it should be.

Not quite precise nor accurate.

LVG criticises a lot of the players, rarely few through the press, but mainly and usually personal and during the many team meetings (many of our players lose confidence from those excessive criticisms and strict instructions). His assistants does it too. Check the many players interviews about that. So yeah, he criticize publicly the players through the press rarely and sub-publicly from the meetings a lot.

But I get your point - LVG doesn't do much public media criticisms of players compare to Jose's constant public media criticisms which is something I dislike too. But both of them do criticize their players a lot (they do praises too mind). Well, in Jose's case, he criticize harshly to some certain players who is not following his instructions leading to costly play and who is not putting acceptable effort. LVG will give criticism all the time, even after winning or putting effort in performing. Mourinho's media criticism is definitely harsher.

Everyone, surely? Other teams that have done it have just won the league and have majorly influential team members involved. Our lot are nobodies for the most part. The fans and upper management would surely not allow them to get away with it like the others.

Yea some fans on a website are going to crucify them while they make millions, they're really worried about that. Our squad is not a team of nobodies, majority of them are title winners here or abroad. They just need someone who can get the best out of them without being a massive c**t and throwing them under the bus.

Depends if a group consisting of Pogba, De gea and Maybe Herrera made some noise they probably would be heard but luckily for mourinho two of those are his soldiers and I can't see them turning on him

Nvm, found it.
Mourinho wants to restrict the flow of information out of the club, especially at sensitive times, and also wants to make sure his players are fully focused on matchdays.

The United manager is frustrated with how much the players make public online and has brought in a strict new set of rules governing what they can and cannot publish on Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram.

The United first team have been told that the club does not want them to publish any pictures from training, from the 48 hours leading up to a game or especially from the team bus on the way to games.

United have been especially aware of players’ social media posts painting the club in a bad light recently, and players who have been thought to have given too much away have been reprimanded.

When Luke Shaw posted footage of himself training at home in November as he recovered from an injury, Mourinho was furious. Shaw was upbraided by Rui Faria for painting the club in a bad light, as if the video suggested United were not doing their own job properly to get the player fit.

Mourinho’s policy has been communicated to all players and their social media teams, and while it is not always adhered to, it is part of the manager’s campaign to change the mentality among the squad that he believes has gone soft in the last few seasons.

Fair rules.

Should be implemented.

Yeah, there's more to fans than a few people complaining on a website you know?
The players haven't earned any respect here, other than a few, and even they aren't exactly in a position to be throwing much weight around. I can't imagine Woodward/the Glazers would take kindly to them downing tools. No idea why that's even being talked about though. If they do that at this stage they're an even bigger bunch of babies than I already think.

Agreed. It's one thing having fun, but they've taken the piss a bit and need to be reigned in. Reading Vidic's interview really makes it hit home about how it was then and now.

Yeah people often forget that. Especially when they expect players to blindly follow the manager at all times.

I know that they could be snakes. But looking in from the outside as that's all we have Mourinho trusts them, never criticizes them and they always give their best for him and I believe they trust him too. Pogba for the fact that Mourinho green lighted his transfer for all that money and Herrera because Mourinho has given him freedom to play at his best

I remember when Ferguson retired David James wrote an article about how under Ferguson there was almost no information coming out of Carrington. Even when he was joking with United players on England duty the United players would not even make a joke about something that happened in training. I do not know how he did it but, as soon as he left the leaks started.

Yep. You can have a manager who the players love. They are called Bournemouth. Winning managers have a bad side. All of them. Chelsea players might find it out with Conte if things go wrong sometime. Liverpool players will find it with Klopp if he doesn't win something and the pressure is on.

Not the same players...Mourinho got different players underperforming and/or performing then van Gaal for example. There are also managers out there who get the most out of most of their squad players, Mourinho can't really be put into this category.

Whose that then? There aren't exactly a plethora of managers about at the moment. You are spouting this stuff, so tell us who is available at the moment? Otherwise it just sounds like you are being critical just for the sake of it.

I feel that is something that is going to change in Football. It has already starting to change in basketball and with the younger coaches in German Football.

Most of the winning coaches have been around a while, so it will take a long time to filter through and until those younger German coaches start winning trophies, they can be as nice as they like.

It is actually easier to be nice when you aren't winning. Once you start to win the pressure is on to continue that. It is pressure that quite often causes outbursts. The big clubs are expected to win constantly, Poch is doing well so far, but if in a couple of years Spurs are still the lovable losers, it could change.
