No !! never ever want him.
He's already more successful. He's won the league in more than four countries and two Champions leagues thrown in too. That isn't as clear-cut as you might think. Van Gaal has won league titles everywhere he's gone. We'd be the exception to the rule were he not to win the league with us. he has also been to three champions' league finals, (2 with Ajax and 1 with Bayern) and has won it once with Ajax. Mourinho will end up being more successful, in my opinion.

Pep has said onmore than one occasion that he will manage in England.Yes. He is the best manager in the world, together with Pep. And we are not sure if Pep would ever want to manage in England
Portugal, England, Italy & Spain.
Whats the other one?

If. Mourinho must have at least twice as many trophies. If Van Gaal were to win the premier league with us, he'd have won the league in 4 countries, too. As it stands, he's won league titles in Holland, Spain and Germany.

He's achieved some good things at times. He's also had some disasters. Sacked by Bayern and Barcelona and failed to get Holland to a major international tournament. Where was his name when the list of candidates to replace Alex Ferguson was being compiled? I don't remember him being mentioned much on here at all.Unless you're prepared to count their respective trophy hauls, you need to stop making statements like this. I don't know who has won more trophies overall because I haven't counted them, but the way you talk about Van Gaal is delusional. The fact we play boring football (mostly due to not having a world-class attack) doesn't invalidate his achievements, which are many at every single club he's ever managed, not to mention the third place he achieved at the world cup with a squad which failed to qualify for the Euros after he took up his position at United. That says a lot.

There's no bias in your opinion at all is there? Availability doesn't stop fans from talking about targets. He wasn't exactly on many peoples wish list. You fail to acknowledge any fault in Van Gaal at all it seems like many of the little cult he seems to have at the moment. Until he achieves something at Utd I'll have my doubts.See, this is the obvious bias present in each of your posts. Van Gaal wasn't available when Fergie announced his retirement; he was preparing for a world cup with the country of his birth...
I am skeptical as to whether Van Gaal is the right man to take United back to the very top of European football. It may just be one challenge too many at the end of a long career, but to behave as though Van Gaal isn't even of the same pedigree as Mourinho is stupid. He is by his record alone. He also plays a far better brand of football if you look at his Ajax, Barca and Bayern sides, as obvious examples. If he makes the right signings for our attack this January or in the summer, I think he may be able to replicate that success with us in his third and final year.

I can understand why anyone wouldn't want Mourinho and his personality managing United seeing as how perfect United's previous managers have been and how much of a good guy United have as a manager currently. Oh wait.
I have seen no fault admitted in him and totally ignoring his sackings and failings with Holland when discussing his record. It must've been very well hidden. Even his flaws were blamed on our players. If you can honestly read the last comment I posted in this thread and think that I am a cult member who unconditionally supports Van Gaal, I suggest you spend some time on your reading comprehension.
Van Gaal has been a gentleman in his time with us. For somebody who is supposedly a volcano who hates everybody and everything, he's treated the fans and referees with utmost respect. It seems he is the same way with our players, but we have limited insight there. Mourinho, by contrast, has been a raging sulk at Chelsea and has blamed just about everyone and everything for his side's woes this season.

Over blown if you ask me he was already shopping for houses in London by time SAF decided to retire, he was already hooked up to go back to Chelsea. Not sure there really was a "rejection" as it is made out to be.think that rejection by us really derailed him. Still I believe he will come back strong.
Yeah he might do well taking a job out of the spotlight for a while or maybe a national team job for s lesser football power. He's been on a downward trajectory since the Inter job, but I think he can pull it back. But not at Chelsea. That situation is toxic, and he'd be sensible to take time out and just recuperate and take an unfancied side and build up his reputation again.
No thanks. Terrible football and his ideas are starting to look a bit dated.
If we're going for a pragmatic manager, I'd go for Allegri. Better quality football and doesn't mind using young players if they're good enough.
HuhAllegri is shit.
Well, not really shit, but not great.
I never said that he hadn't a good record at times in the past. I just pointed out there was no debate as to who was more successful between the two. Van Gaal's most impressive achievements came 20 years ago.Yes he has flaws. When discussing his record, however, it's important to point out to somebody who's acting as though his record is not that of a top manager that he's won multiple league titles in 3 different countries and has won the CL/European Cup, along with many other cups.
The flaws I see in his current United team are:
1: lack of high press. I prefer Pep's aggressive style of pressing to Van Gaal's more conservative approach of pressing from the half-way line. However it is making us defensively compact.
2: A lack of urgency with the ball. We often use the ball as part of a defensive strategy. Defending with the ball, if that makes sense.
3: Lack of movement between the lines. Van Gaal likes very structured attacks which demand a lot of robotic memorisation and practice from the players which can stunt our creativity.
My comment about our lack of a potent attacking force is, however, much more important than all three of the criticisms I make above. The reason for this is because possession football is a percentage game. The more you have the ball, the more opportunities you have to attack. Everybody knows this. But without players who can pose a consistent threat of beating a man multiple times in the space of 90 minutes, it's quite easy for teams to park the bus and watch the play endlessly switch from side to side in front of them.
Just a thought with these random stories popping up about Jose Mourinho potentially ending up at United one day, would you be happy if he ever ended up as the manager?
I used to admire him and tbh still think he's an immense football manager, but his recent shenanegans have started to turn me off him quite a bit....not sure what I'd think if he ever ended up as our manager.
Thoughts?
Which manager you know that's been successful with mediocre players? He relied too much on individuals to build his team. At Milan it was a solid defense with Silva and an attack focused on Ibrahimovich. When they left, he had no idea how to adapt and Milan went into pieces.
Same thing happening at Juve now. With the departures of Vidal and Tevez, he just can't cope.
Average manager.
