All credit to Woodward and Moyes for pulling this off. An unbelievable signing. For a decent fee as well. I would have called anyone suggesting that we could sign Mata a lunatic a mere two weeks ago.

Why did Chelsea sell him to us!? It just doesn't make any sense.

That's one thing about Mata is that unlike your usual silk skilled spanish playmakers he decides games through goals and assists too.

It's interesting that we potentially have two playmaking AM's who are both good goalscorers in Kagawa and Mata. If we ever got them doing what they did at Chelsea and Dortmund, we'd have such creativity and goal threat it's nuts.

CHELSEA midfielder Juan Mata has been sold to an eerie crewless ship.

The ship, which has been purposelessly roaming since being cut adrift last year, is inhabited only by diseased cannibal rats feeding on each other.

Thought only to have value as scrap, the deserted hulk terrifies other ships with its advancing decay and its red-eyed, feral inhabitants.

Mata said: “Joining a decaying ghost ship, a spectre of the seaways which other captains talk about in hushed tones because they fear it could one day happen to them, isn’t exactly the ideal transfer.

“On the other hand, at least I might get to start a game every once in a while.”
 
Why not just wait until he passes his medical and personal terms are agreed?

And you are complaining ? When my father was alive - if I had mention Juan Mata he would just have looked at me in a strange way pondering what that was :)

I also pick up a shiny new car today but who cares about that. I can't believe we have signed Mata. Has Jose gone mad this wee fella is a genius a cross between Wesley S and D Silva just unbelievable.
 
It's been reported by all the major news sources that terms were agreed last week, I think it's just the medical that needs completing then it's a done deal.

Probably. It's likely thay're just not able to officially announce that given it's suppose to be Fee > Wages > Medical.
 
All personal terms are agreed before the clubs agree a deal. Ok, it might not be completely legal but it's how it's done. There is no point both clubs working so hard to get a deal done and then for United to go to Mata and say ok what do you think and Mata to say, "what the feck, I don't want to join".
