I don't think I'm melting down, although I was fecking boiling during the game. Of all the England failures down the years this is the least painful.

Yeah because I expected nothing from England at all. I wasn’t even sure they’d make out of the group. I don’t feel gutted or upset, quite proud of them really, it’s was a surprise they got so far. I didn’t think they’d win the World Cup but it’s been a nice feeling for the last week or so wondering ‘just what if?’. I expect United to win and play well, that’s the difference. Irish, Scots would love to experience the same but they’ll just continue to cheer on whoever England are playing. Wales got to a semi and fair play to em.

I don’t have a problem with England losing. It was the manner by which they lost that was concerning. They couldn’t have started the game any better but the ghosts of yesteryears came back to haunt the team.
It’s always the fragile mentality when the going gets tough. England bossed it in the first half, should have scored a couple more and then the performance declined. England had just 1 shot on target(Trippier’s goal in the 5th minute) throughout a game that lasted for 120 minutes.
I don’t see how you see this as an achievement. Achievement is winning the bloody trophy or at least get to the final.
I don't know if I despise more the concept of 'God' - the Abraham (Western) type - or the concept of unelected leaders. But the last paragraph of it is pretty absurd:

What an utter load of rubbish! The problem you have is that there is nothing laughable at this England team. They have performed above expectation, become a team, and played for each other.
This has not happened since 1996 - it’s a revelation, and they will go home with their heads held high. You could laugh at the team we had at Euro 2016, as that was utterly pathetic, but the difference is like night and day. The issue is the utter hate that’s present in this thread, I’m happy for anyone to laugh at the England team - when they have been pathetic (most of the last 28 years) - but there’s nothing to laugh about here.
I'm definetely not English. I just like giving a bit of stick to all those dicks who think supporting United and England comes as some sort of a package. I actually don't mind England at all. I love the style of football and love the atmosphere at the games and the passion but when some posters come out with crap like that, it's hard not to add fuel to fire.

thats true but apart from the Lingard chance England didn't have much going forward. Both Kane chances were offside. what i meant was that England did not play with the same intensity once they scored. Once the second half started they were already looking to play time wasting. But i really think this England team is going to grow. Hopefully Euro 2020?

What a great tournament. So pleased to be part of it at home with amazing weather and some great results. Beaten by a world class midfield in the end but should’ve finished it off in the first half.
