Liverpool v Manchester United

Here's hoping Welbeck scores at the Kop, turns his back to the cnuts, and shows his number.

With Liverpool having no wingers, or any particularly dangerous attacking fullbacks, i wouldn't think we'd need Park on the wing.

I don't think he does play Park to win the wings, I think he plays Park to help defend the middle when he feels we'll struggle there.

Now I'm not suggesting Fergie will look at this game that way - but he doesn't seem to be in many of the Caf's line-ups, despite it being noticeable how many of the biggies Park does start.

The thought of Welbeck scoring and pointing at his 'name' in front of the Kop fills me with so much joy!

Instant legend status.

@ Sean

Why would you leave out Nani?
1) He has played a lot of football this season and had a tough game in Denmark this week.............Welbeck is fresh, i think we need so much fresh players as possible for this game.
2) And i thought the same like McLovin "Here's hoping Welbeck scores at the Kop, turns his back to the cnuts, and shows his number" :D

I would be supremely confident if this is at Old Trafford

But not at their place, i'm actually convinced we'll lose. Maybe 2-1

Think we'll be beaten today myself.
And i think that prick Gerrard is going to score as well!

Its probably back to the game when giggs got a brace there that we actually played well at anfield. I hope we smash them but i can't see it

It's not a game you can predict

We're a better side and have been for the last 20 years - our problem is that Liverpool are more up for it than us more often than not

I just hope we are fearless today - do this and avoid any stupid mistakes and we'll be ok

United to win today, lots of peeople on here predicting a United loss, don't understand that.. Anyway come on United...

Yup fancy United to get a good result today, Its set up for Rooney to show England what they will be missing and for Nani to get some payback for that Carragher tackle last time. Come on Utd!

Team
Starting XI:

Bench: Lindegaard, Jones, Evans, Giggs, Nani, Chicharito, Berbatov

Predicition: 2-3 (Downing, Suarez - Welbeck, Young, Chicharito)

I think it would be absolute insanity not starting Nani.

Its similar to how they were the better side 20 odd years ago and we kept doing them over. The worse off team in this fixture always has a bigger point to prove.

You may not agree with it, but surely you can understand it? We've lost the last three at Anfield and are up against a fully fit squad. On our side, we have more than a few question marks: can Vidic, Smalling and/or Cleverley be risked? Will Rooney's suspension from the Euros effect his form? Has Fletcher expended too much energy in the last two internationals after such a long lay-off? Has Evans fully recovered from the injury that has just kept him out of the Northern Ireland matches?

Personally, I'd take a draw without hesitation today, and await the derby next week when home advantage should swing the advantage our way.

This is a post Internationals, Lunchtime kickoff at Anfield. It's all set up for us not to do well but hopefully we can perform well enough this time and not get outfought.

It's the same for both teams though mate.

Except that being at Anfield is our problem and their strength.

I hate Liverpool v United games. We usually play poorly, the games themselves are usually awful, low quality scraps and I'm way too nervous throughout to take any real enjoyment from it.

Even when Arsenal were actually good, I liked the games against them much better.

I'm sitting watching classic games from the past on espn classic to kill time. The 4-1 is up next though...

I'd switch that one over if I were you. I still remember that day, cnuts down the street from me out celebrating in the street as if they'd won the fecking league.

It was the first United - Liverpool match I attended, fecking weird day.

My overwhelming memory of that game was wondering how the hell we lost 4-1, I recall us being the better team, at worst it was an even game
