This is gonna be tough. It's been a while since we properly smashed Liverpool, hasn't it?

I feel confident. No-one really knew what to expect from us against a top team under Moyes. Now we've shown we were more than a match for Chelsea - we just needed sharper instincts up front to get the goal we probably deserved (more possession, more shots, more corners).

I think we'll now have the confidence to really go for it at Anfield, against a team that are nowhere near Chelsea's quality despite some decent summer additions. In particular, there's no way Liverpool have the defensive players to thwart our strikers the way Chelsea's team did so well tonight.

If RVP, Rooney and Welbeck can all perform as well as they have done recently, we'll win this.

I expect Moyes to field the same team that played Chelsea, and I'm confident of a United win. Simply United are better in every department and Liverpool don't have Suarez. Hopefully Moyes gets his first managerial away win against Liverpool, and Rooney finally turns up at Anfield.

Important game coming up. This away from home could be an important three points knowing we let a couple go at home. I would like to see a 'result' in terms of actually having a go. This and the Chelsea 3pts would have been very very handy this early in the piece. 4/6 would still be very worthwhile.

Moyes has not managed a side that has beaten Liverpool though?

Liverpool to win, RAWK to post "IT'S ON!" only for them to crumble in November.

Chalk it down.

I think we'll see Daniel in for Shinji and Luis in for Wilf tbh. I'd like to see Wilfried and Shinji get a game but Daniel's been playing well so I can't see him being dropped. David seems to like the defensive side of Luis' game too.

Fabio Ferdinand Vidic evra
Carrick cleverley
Valencia Rooney kagawa
Van Persie

Hopefully nani is fit and can maybe come in for one of the wingers. Probably bench at most though. Kagawa should either get subbed on or start this, and I think we need Fabio at right back because we really miss the attacking output from Rafael when he's there, and fabio is pretty much the same person so we should get the a similar quality out there.
Strangely more confident we'll win this than if we beat Chelsea. Winning 3 games on the trot at the start of the year doesn't happen all the time, and I figured we'd probably draw had we beaten Chelsea. Liverpool have won their first two games as well, would be surprised if they kept it going though. Going to be a tough game but I think we can do it. Rooney and rvp to score in a 2-1 win.

Do we ever play well at Anfield?

We won last year with RvP netting the penalty didn't we? And Rafael scoring that a wonderful curler with his left. I don't think I've been more confident of going to Anfield in a long time. Rafael aside, we don't really have too many injuries (though Nani and Hernandez are probably out) and we've hit decent form.

Last seasons performance at Anfield was awful, so it shouldn't be hard to improve.
I know Moyes has his favourite XI, but he's going to have to rotate at some point, we have a huge squad.

Liverpool have been brilliant to watch of late, if they play anywhere near that - we'll have a real fight on our hands as we're usually poor at Anfield anyway. Under Moyes we might put up a better fight.

I always expect us to outplay them, as our team has been miles better lately. But we never seem to put in a decent performance there.

I expect a tough game, as usual, hopefully we'll just edge it.

Tough match... but we'll win since we are by far the better team. But you know scouse logic and all... they already have the best players in each and every position...

I hate this bloody fixture, especially at Anfield. It always has my nerves up to 100. I'd go for:

--------------DDG-----------------
Jones------Rio-----Vidic-------Evra
-------------Carrick---------------
Zaha---Rooney----Kagawa---Young
------------Van Persie-------------

Subs: Lindegaard, Evans, Buttner, Anderson, Cleverley, Valencia, Welbeck.

Liverpool don't handle being pressed high up on the pitch very well, and can be forced into errors quite easily, as the game against Villa proved, as well as our game against them at OT last season.
I'd like to see our front 4 getting right up in their faces from the off, don't give them a second on the ball to pick out a pass and just totally disrupt their rhythm.

What is that?

1 central midfielder away to Liverpool?

How did Mingolet look against Villa? Against Stoke whilst he, rightly, got the plaudits he looked flappy under crosses and I don't think that central defensive partnership is the best either.

Do a job on Coutinho and I think they'll struggle to break us down, I think.

We do have a few weaknesses at the back. :( Lucas and Gerrard's passing against Villa was woeful, thus couldn't pass our way out of trouble as we usually do. Hopefully, it was a blip. Agger is suspect and prone to a huge mistake every match. Wouldn't be surprised if you get at least one penalty because of him. How we've kept a clean sheet is more to do with our 'possession football' than reliance on him.

And I would play Valencia against Enrique. I think Antonio could be too wily for Jose, more so than the direct but predictable Zaha. The main question will be do you press us high away from home, or do you sit back and try to play on the counter? And will Rooney ever pass to Van Persie?

Im all in favour of Gerard starting in this one. Hes played far too deep to effect the game against Villa. With Lucas already in that part of the pitch I thought it unbalanced them against Villa.

Looking at how well Delph did I think Anderson might start this one.

No reason to change the team much, we smashed Swansea and probably should have nicked it against Chelsea 1-0:

de Gea
Jones Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Carrick Cleverley
Valencia Rooney Welbeck
van Persie

If we signed Fellaini, he might get a look in over Cleverley. Anderson also has a shout, but I'd expect him to be subbed on here.

Liverpool have been tough to break down from what I saw of their opening two games, so I think the wide options are going to be our best bet of making something happen. We couldn't quite do it against Chelsea, but if Nani/Zaha are ready then I think they could make the desired impact. This will be another tight match probably won by the odd goal.

The crowd will want them to attack against Manchester United otherwise they'll get frustrated, which is why I think it's still a safer option to go with the work rate of Valencia and Welbeck for the first 55-60 minutes before we inject what is probably more creativity with the likes of Nani/Zaha/Kagawa to try and win the game if we aren't already. Not beating Chelsea means we could really do with winning this game, but a draw wouldn't be a bad result. If we can beat Palace, and West Brom, and avoid defeat to City as well, it'll be a strong start to the season with four very difficult games out of the way and being undefeated.

The first time United plays Liverpool and is on a lower table position since 2008. Liverpool fans are feeling confident about this. Well, I say let's bring them back to Earth. I am very confident that we'll win the match. Hopefully Fabio will start instead of Jones and maybe Kagawa instead of Valencia, the other players should be from last match. 0-2 my prediction.

They are always confident at this stage of the season.

Yes but this time they are even more than usual because they won the first two matches and now have more points than us. The 'this is our year' has started between them.
