Liverpool vs. Man United

Precisely! Nothing new about this performance. Par for course really. Would like to see us create a few more chances though, our wing play has been terrible so far. I'd be happy to get out of here with a draw to be honest.

Is it me or does it seem like Moyes is making the exact same team selection/tactics that Fergie would have made? I was expecting Moyes to put more of a stamp of his own style on this team. Also seems to me his team selections have been "safe" rather than going for our flair players to make a difference (e.g. Nani, Kagawa etc.) Might have something to do with their match fitness but Moyes has to realize we have a huge squad that needs to be rotated.

I was also hoping we'd see something different. It's obviously a tough start, but you'd think after all those years at Everton, getting his hands on some of the creative players we have he'd be eager to use them! But noooo, he's more worried about pundit opinion and not losing games.

I don't blame him in a way, but that Chelsea game towards the end and this game now are where we should be taking risks and adding spark we so desperately need.

Would like to see this at some point, won't happen most likely.

-------De Gea
Valencia Rio Vidic Evra
----Carrick Cleverly
-------Anderson
Nani---Hernandez--RVP

We can't use 4 subs mate.

Other than the goal, Young played alright. Why are people talking as if starting him is a sackable offence? I swear half of you aren't actually fans of United, you're just moany, cynical bastards who just enjoy the winning part.

Giggs played well until the last few minutes when he played a couple of shit passes. Carrick hasn't been very good, Cleverley is trying hard but he's got a lot to deal with in that midfield. We must give van Persie some more service in this half.

We need people who can pass the ball under pressure and who can move around the pitch and make themselves available. Fellaini wont change any of that.
Maybe not but he would added much needed steel to the team

It's not over yet, folks.

Oh and youre a top red a true Man United supporter post like yours are so fecking anoying

we look light in midfield...can see why we are desperate to get someone.

Well that's the problem, if we were indeed so desperate, you'd think our bids would be better. Everyone and his dog knows we need midfielders so they're going to be priced higher than we'd like. We have to swallow it and shell out, or stay this way. Why oh why didn't we hit Barca with second bid of 45 mil or something ?

Wow - that's pretty harsh, even for the matchday thread.

starting giggs on the right ffs.

absolute shithouse of a line-up. no imagination or creativity whatsoever aside from van persie, and there's not much he can do without the service.

I wonder if Moyes doesnt know the players yet. Fergie obviously knew the players better and --- why would put Giggs, left legged on the right and Young, right legged on the left. Also I think the pace of this match is too fast for him.

Might be his decisions not to keep any of the old staff coming back to bite him?

I do hate the Liverpool away game, never play well do we.

textbook performance today, we need some strike of luck to get us in it, as from that first half we'll be lucky to get a shot on target!

People love slagging off the usual suspects but Carrick and RVP have been worse.

Wum

What annoys me with Young is the way the ball seems to get tangled in his feet.

I'd switch them first. It's more natural to have Giggs and Young on their most comfortable sides. At the moment they both keep cutting in and compressing our game. We need to add more width and directness out wide.

Yeah, I mean we've had some good moments but I can't help but feel between then young, welbeck and giggs don't have the interplay as a trio to make it work. If they played wide on their respective positions we might get something from a cross which is why I thought young started in the first place.

They are pressing high and we never do well with that, plus we have zero creativity up top, RvP getting worryingly frustrated, at some point Moyes might want to think about bringing him off for Chicahrito just in case, we can't afford to lose him for three games.

All of a sudden, we lack players who can travel with the ball with pace & panache. Anderson is built for games like this. Someone should drop a letter in Giggsy's mailbox, he needs a vacation in Hawaii.

So who is going to score before we get a dodgy penalty to end up winning this 2-1? I'm going for either Giggs and Young just because of the flack they are taking.
