Liverpool vs. Man United

Really don't understand why Giggs want to keep playing and not just concentrate to be
a coach or mentor to the younger players. Playing him means a chance lost to groom Petrucci, Powell
Adan & company. Giggs should be considerate and asked to be de-registered.

We played okay in the second half , but to be honest they are a shit side , don't start trying to say Liverpool are a good side , it was one of those games that happens every season it's equal to us losing to Norwich or Swansea , all those people knocking afroman he would have given us an edge , fair do,s to cleverly for sticking the boot in for his teammates , we lost a game we should have won , move on chin up

I agree there, the fans want to see the kids come through, how is that going to happen when Giggs will not retire or at least be fazed out.

''happy with the players I have at my disposal''

I know many on here think Giggs was poor. But I thought he made some good tackles and passes. He just is too slow. At Anfield, we need speed. Unfortuanelly Cleverly got bullied and Carrick was bellow par. Wing play was non existent. Young was awful and in every game we have missed Rafael so much.

lets not forget Rooney....it would have been suicide to sell him.

Why the feck was Young picked for selection? Was he even match fit? Should have started with Nani. Also how did Giggs manage 70 odd minutes? He's almost 40 for christ's sake.

Perhaps because he enjoys playing football and loves his job?

I don't think Young was too bad, he should have been put on the right ahead of Jones though. We might have had a bit more penetration then given Evra was bombing forward a lot on the left and Jones isn't exactly adequate in the final third of the pitch to be an attacking fullback.

I hate that 'fans' reaction on here and twitter is far more annoying than any defeat itself. As soon as we lose I feel like just hiding under my duvet for a few days while it all blows over.

But Nani is so much more creative. I would have preferred to take that risk. I'm slightly confused with our team selection. I think Moyes got it wrong today. Live and learn.

It's not the defeat as such, we have had amazing luck in games there in the past. It's the fact it just highlighted the fact we need midfielders and David Moyes doesn't appear bothered if we don't get anyone.

I'd always look to start Nani wherever possible as I think he's one of our best players but I think the idea was to have someone to come off the bench if we needed to make a difference. I don't think it was an overly poor team selection and it's not one that surprised me at all. We lack some real quality on the centre of midfield and Moyes chose the best of what he has available in my opinion. It's a coin toss between Cleverley and Anderson, though I'd lean towards Anderson because I think he's better at driving forward with the ball.

I think if we can get Fellaini in to partner Carrick, we might look a bit better at controlling the midfield as so far this season, our ball retention has actually been quite good overall.

With one day left I don't think there is any hope of us signing anyone. I am so frustrated with our board, we should have had new signings ready for the start of the season ready for the tough start we knew we had.

Just because he loves doing it, doesn't mean he is still good enough.

But would you stop doing something you love? Giggs doesn't choose to play himself, that's the manager's job. Giggs is a footballer because he loves playing football. Manchester United are his employers and if they don't think he is competent, they should either sell him, ask him to retire or terminate his contract. Obviously the first and last of those won't happen but my point is it's not really Giggs' responsibility.

While I don't disagree that Giggs probably doesn't have it in him to play in those games as long as he did, I don't think he played badly today.

I think we'll be pleasantly surprised come Monday.

He was fecking horrific!

Maybe that's a bit strong, apart from not being able to beat a man, pass or cross he did ok

I'm not a professional footballer. He should only be a sub at the most or in lesser games, not against Liverpool etc. They say it's for his experience, Bryan Robson would be experienced but we wouldn't play him.

Agreed. New signings and exits withstanding, that's the best XI at our disposal. When Rafael is fit he should slot straight in at right-full.

Spot on!

Moyes saying he isn't bothered if we sign anyone. Well he should be bothered and hammering Ed'd door down if he doesn't get the players he want. Do you think Sir Alex would be thinking it didn't matter.

Well he regularly said similar things to that, he did give us most of our now over used sayings such as "no value in the market."

Apart from Anderson I agree. ANd I'm a fanboy but he scares the feck out of me defensively. We really have feck all to offer apart from Carrick in CM
